Neutral feedback. When do you give it?

Very nice communication. I'm sure that there was even more through pm or email.

Now my only question, how do I make that Insingo mine? :D

Kidding, unless I come across something that you want anyway. I've been buying handmade wood carving knives with abandon. My wife's eyes start to narrow every time I make a break for the mailbox I'm afraid. :o

Good advice on shipping. That's pretty much the way I do it, although I've taken to wrapping the contents in the pages of knife catalog paper just for fun. That is, so long as it won't scratch anything.

I feel that the neutral feedback should be used more often. I recently left one for a member that traded with me. I sent my items on time and waited for his. After mine were delivered, I emailed asking if mine had been shipped and if he could validate my part arriving to him. I got ZERO response and eventually my item arrived. It was postmarked the day that my end reached him. I eventually got my end, but with no communication and the fact that he waited till he got his end first(not part of the agreement), I felt that I could not leave him a positive or negative feedback.

PS: Still have never heard back from the member.

Oh that would piss me off well and good. I'd certainly consider leaving neutral feedback in that case. If you don't mind sharing, what did you write for comments?

I left a long comment describing why I left the feedback. I pointed out the late post mark, the fact that he was still logging in and out of the forum, and the lack of replies. On top of it all, there seems to be a trend of it, yet everyone keeps leaving positive feedback for him. There was even a couple of individuals who left comments in my thread on the situation saying they were experiencing the same issue. The feedback system is there to help future folks dealing with this person. I sometimes feel like it may be inflated due to us not wanting to step on toes. I honestly would have left positive feedback if I had gotten a reply saying why it was shipped late. Even if it was just a "My bad, I completely forgot to ship but it is on the way.", I would have felt that to be a honest mistake.

I usually leave neutral feedback if everything arrives fine but the terms weren't followed to a T. This usually occurs in trades when the agreed date to send the knife isn't met. Or, in the most recent case, the same shipping method isn't used. I send things USPS Priority (unless I state otherwise in my sale threads) and I had a recent trade where the other party agreed to Priority but sent via First Class in an envelope instead of a box, as agreed upon via email.

Other than that I've had all positive experiences on this site and thank the members that have been a part of those.

Interesting. The one that came in an envelope, did it arrive in good condition?
