Got my Blackwood today and really like it. Probably my favorite from the current run. Mr. Kifer moved quickly to iron out what he called the "hiccups" (see post #1043) in his ordering system and shipped incredibly quickly.
One thing I have noticed on all five of my examples: if you run your finger up along the curve of the clip point toward the spine, there is a fairly substantial burr where the swedge transitions into the squared off spine. You don't feel it if you run your finger the other way. I also noticed this on my clip blade 77 but it's not as pronounced. It feels as if these knives will be pretty substantial pocket shredders because of the burr so I'll be carrying them in leather slips.
Also, this Blackwood is my first serialized GEC. I got #28. Anyone hereabouts get a lower number?
Maybe you can do a few passes on it with a ceramic rod?@WoodManGM the cut swedge is at a very acute angle, a chamfer would have made it more pocket friendly.

I meant just enough to break the sharpness of the corner. Are you guys talking about removing more metal than that? I might be misunderstanding. At any rate they look like great little knives, congrats to everyone who's scored one. It's going to require more than a few passes with a diamond file. I'm not willing to try it![]()

Congrats! I kept wondering when these were going to show up.Grabbed a burlap. Poof. I really like GEC's synthetic covers. And wood. And bone. lol
Thank goodness.course none have been dogs.
Same here buddy!!Very true, but I would rather have this burr than a weak or lazy spring. I’ve learned that if you get a strong spring, with great walk and talk, the other stuff I can live with.
