New 14 run

Received my Ironwoods today. Noticed there was a little gap around the shields when ordering but doesn't bother me. Really loving the wood on the bottom one. Now to decide which one is mine and which one is my son's.... (he's 6 months old).

I like them both but the one on the bottle is amazing.

Chief Chief Very good array, but particularly like that Cobblestone, effective!

The cobblestone does have a nice texture without being rough. Classic browns should age nicely, can't help but wonder what it would look like with the colors reversed 180 degrees?

I believe you have the largest collection so far. Very impressive. Do you have a favorite?

Thanks, didn't intend on collecting them, but admit to ending up with more than I need. Have a couple ironwoods due in and a two blade stag confirmed but after those just want one each of the TCs. Favorite is a three way tie, at least today :)

Antique amber jigged bone is underrated, great feel in hand, nice color.

I have to agree. I ended up with five so far: antique amber, Barry's Autumn, CK red saw cut, ebony and rust red. The rust red and ebony will move onwards, I'm on the fence with the smooth autumn, but the saw cut and the antique amber jigged will certainly stay with me.

I've been really debating my edc for next year (this year I've carried a smooth bone 78 every day, and learned a lot along the way). Right now I'm strongly leaning towards the antique amber 14. It will age amazingly and look fantastic with some pocket wear.

Got a little sun between showers to take some new pics of the ironwood.

THIS is why I love ironwood. Incredible.

I won't see mine until Tuesday because I had it shipped to where I work and it won't get delivered on a Saturday, and Monday is a holiday. I think it will be hard to send it along if it looks this good!

Got my Burlap Micarta in yesterday. Fit and finish are superb but man was the action tight. I worked it over pretty thoroughly with nano oil, rubbed some mineral oil in to the micarta and touched up the edge last night. It is now pocket ready.

I have to say that as much as I like a strong pull (7-8), I think a 5 is more appropriate for such a small knife. I've got a pretty strong thumbnail, but it's hurting pretty hard after working the action a couple hundred times in order to smooth it out. All good now, but I think I would have preferred a nail nick further out on the blade instead of the long pull. A little extra leverage would have been nice. Still, all in all this is a sweet little knife and I'm glad to have been able to find one.

E Elgatodeacero congrats on a couple of beauties! Ironwood is tough to photograph! Think I prefer the polished bolsters over satin.

The one on the left has a cool face pattern. Needs flushed and worked, almost lazy on the close compared to the others.
