NEW 4.7 Thread

Damn those look great guys! I'm official jealous as all hell now!
I think I'll have to order a bunch of different scales for mine once it gets here because they all look great.

ive already cut myself rubbing a little oil on the blade and handle, nothing a little super glue couldnt fix. the edge kept trying to get me and i recognized its eagerness to cut but alas guys sharpening skills won.

It has my favorite handle ergos of all the models I have owned. Really like the extra little bit taken out by the finger guard and my pinkie wraps around the thinnest part of the handle in the back. Fit and finish are flawless, this is the 3rd of 5 factory 2cds I could not find the flaw. I like the more spear point styled tip better as well over my 1st gen 5.
It's a winner!

Thanks for the nice pics Casinostocks and Psybull , now I am even more excited to get my 2nd I ordered last Monday . Cannot stop drooling !!! I wonder if this will replace my 4.1 and 5.1 also . Prob not I am quite the hoarder !!!😬

Fits me much better than the 5.1. Perfect for my almost size 9 hands without gloves. With thicker (Costco 3-in-pack) calf hide gloves, gets a bit lost in the leather but with my Outdoor Research "tactical" gloves, it is still perfect. Seems I missed out on the microtexturing, but I'm not going to be losing any sleep. Based on this, I will most definitely be preordering the GSO 4.5 BC. I will be doing some woodworking with it this weened. Posting photos of my recent loot in the other more appropriate thread ;)

I just sold my 5.1 on the Exchange in less than 10 minutes to the same person who also bought my 5.1 in 20CV. I'm staying choilless with the future midsize GSOs and other mid range knives.

Grats you guys. They look awesome.

My only complaint, you both got scales I already have. Let's see some new ones!!

Use them in health my friends.

My 4.7 is structurally flawless. The only flaw is the coating on the CPM-3V stamped side. The markings rubbed out but left a very faint color discrepancy as compared to the surface area. This is only probably a flaw in Guys book. I had received at least 2 TOPS in the past which was at best the same, if not worse! With some use, no one will be able to tell anyway!

Nice pic jjweb! Couple random thoughts. I have numerous stonewashed Gso's and one of the new models (5.1). I really prefer the new finish. Now that I know the 2nds have darn good fit and finish, I'll have to pick one up. The 4.7 seconds are extreme reasonable priced too.

Yeah I can see why you sold the 5.1 Casino, pretty sure my 5.1 will be going down the same road. It's a first so should sell very well.

Grats again my friend!

Got my 4.7 Factory Second today. A few thoughts:

1. I've been buying and using SURVIVE! knives as long as they have been a company. I have a 4.1 in M390 with orange G10. I find the 4.1 MUCH lighter and easier to carry for an extended time period than this 4.7. The weight difference is quite noticeable. Note: my 4.1 is old school, so this may not apply to the newer 4.1's.

2. I believe that I have microtextured G10, and WOW... just on initial handling, this is outstanding. The best of G10 and Micarta all in one. Very impressed. It's like glue.

3. Fit, finish, and ergonomics have improved dramatically, if possible. I love my old 4.1 but the 4.7 handle seems to fit just right.

4. I prefer the old heavy stonewash finish to the new finish...quite a bit, actually. I didn't even realize they changed it, and I don't like the new blade finish as much.

5. Usage pictures and further review to follow in the future. Here's a few comparison shots! I like the orange G10 for visibility in the woods.

Man that orange looks killer!
I have a feeling that I'll still carry the 4.1 as my go to EDC also.
