New Anso Design **Albatross**pics added**

Thanks for the vids and pics guys, mine should be here tomorrow:)

Hopefully it won't have any QC issues as I'm lookin forward to getting this!!

I think its just a bad design on the blade tang not really a qc issue it makes no sense to me, I am probably going to get rid of it its bothering me to much!

Just opened mine up:)

Dead solid in every way, razor sharp and smooth as butter!

I'm very pleased!

I'm gonna look at your vid again Bwolcott, mine is cut at a pretty extreme angle on the tang, but it's solid as a rock
Maybe you just need to bend the lockbar in more so it's fully engaging the tang? I know you showed that if you push it in its okay, if you bend it will it engage in that spot or still stop where there is blade play?

I guess there's always bound to be one or two that slip thru in the manufacturing process. Hell, my VFD on my KMG grinder just went dead 2 weeks ago and ive never heard of that happening to anyone! I just got a lemon I guess:(

But I'm very pleased with this Boker

Edit: okay, I looked at your video again, mine is cut just as steep as yours which makes me think the lockbar just isnt fully engaging. If I move the lockbar out on mine just a tad, the blade will rock, but when I open it it swings fully into the curve, which is what you want, and its solid.

I already pushed the lockbar in but it still actually only contacts on the corner of the lock bar the rest of it you can see day light through , there is no more blade play but as soon as that corner wears it will be back, its just a terrible way to cut a blade tang thats why most knives aren't cut like that

Got it today, lock ups solid, smaller then what I expected, like the thick blade stock, and smooth finished handles.

Bwollcot,

Thanks for the excellent and very informative video. I love my Sage 2 and this Boker will be a new purchase for me.

Mine was solid as can be when I first got it, now the blade stop rattles and its not a touch of up and down play, dont know what im going to do with it.

Full Ti handle, VG-10 steel, & Anso design. This husky little knife has a strong detent, blade is perfectly centered and so far no blade play at all. Stone washed finish on the blade and handle is nicely done. Already a winner for Boker!

Nice pictures, I took alot when I got mine too, I was very happy with it, but its hardly a winner, mines going back, I dont keep knives that have vertical play, and blade stop rattles, I work to hard im done buying imported junk with poor craftsmanship, Dont open it to much!

^^Thanks for the compliment! Sorry to hear the knife you received had issues. I'd return it too if I got a knife with problems that you just described.
For $99.95 I think this is a pretty good buy and so far my knife has zero blade play, lock up is early and solid similar to my other custom framelocks. The lock bar was sticky at first but a touch of sharpie took care of the problem. I think this knife will hold its own as an edge tool.

Good luck!

I wouldnt compare it to my customs or even production frame locks, as the tang cut is professional, unlike the albatros's, but thats the same on everyones ive seen so far, mine was perfect, a couple days of opening it and it developed play and audible rattling. I thought 99 bucks was a good deal too.

Open yours half way, and shade it back n forth, side to side like, and see if your blade stop rattles like mine, thats when I noticed mine had problems, cause I can grip mine "pushing the lock in further" and its solid. but I can feel the lock when I open it vibrate and its not even hitting the tang cause its cut away from it,

What did you shoot the pics on, looks good, cant tell if its rust or a type of rock :D.
