Knife looks very smexy.

I wonder if it comes with a poo poo sheath like their Bravo 1's?

Although to be fair, I do like their bushcraft style sheaths.

I just hope they don't decide to change those simply to save money.

The leather should be of little consideration in the matter. You can always get quality leather or kydex.

Or just learn to make them for yourself. ;)

Love them or hate them, Bark River sure makes a pretty knife! I really like this one. I already have a couple Scandi's so this one might never make it into my collection, but I wouldn't throw one out, thats for sure.

Hmmm. Specs are very similar to the Fallkniven F1 except for the steel of course. I really like 3V.

I don't mind it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one.

When I buy a knife that costs as much as they do, I tend to like to have a good sheath. The sheath can make or break the knife, and I don't want to have to send a knife that costs over $100 out for a sheath. ;)

I do understand what you are saying, I just don't have the same opinion on the matter :)

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying to stop being a sissy and just MAKE an awesome sheath! ;)

No - I totally get you. I wish you could order them WITHOUT a sheath and have them take the difference off.

Sharpshooter sheaths are hit or miss. I LOVE their gunny sheaths and a few others - but the leather is a bit thin on their bushcrafters. JRE used to make their sheaths and I wish they still did. A little thicker and a little nicer end product.

Nice looking knife. Bark river makes some great knives, most of my fixed blade users are Bark River.

Is this a revival of the HCF knife with a scandi? It looks like the specs are the same. Bark River knives are in a category of knives that really need a very heavy sheath. I use 10 oz bark tanned for mine because these are sooo sharp that I just don't trust lighter weight sides. You can be as careful as possible until the day you put that knife in a little wonky and it goes through into your leg. A kydex insert would be practical and still allow them to keep the price point real. The heavier leather like I use would add too much to the selling price I think. I wish it was still easy to get the old orthopedic tanned leather like I used for special shoes in the past. It had the raw hide center like the real puuko makers used. Never pierced one of those and it's thinner than what I use now.

It will be a very nice knife and maybe I'll try it. I don't see how I'd ever want to leave my Bravo home for the sake of this, however, so this would probably end up being one of the many BRK knives I bought and then resold due to lack of use.

Another scandi grind. Pass. I'll wait for the Aurora, which is supposed to be coming out in 3v.

It is a DLT exclusive and between the size of a Liten Bror and the Aurora. They will be convexed ... not a true flat bevel.
