just an FYI - I recently saw the new Kabar/becker 7 & 9 for sale at knifecenter - unfortunately, not at the previous prices of the camillus/beckers. Seems to be the same type of sheath as well.

Nice find.

$75.95 and $77.95 respectively, for those who do not wish to look it up.

seems kinda high but it may help flatten some of the prices of the Camillus Beckers...then again maybe not..... LOL

What where they originally? I got a BK7 for $65 a year ago at a store that just happened to still have a few in stock. These new prices seem pretty great to me!

I gave $59.99 for my BK7 new ..
but I guess lets add inflation and what not....OK price not to bad....wish they would of did better on the sheath

:thumbup:Bought my 7 on ebay and paid less than $50.00 incl. shipping.:foot: :D

Compared to their competition, the prices seem pretty good to me.

I believe thats about what I paid for my BK71 (desert beige version) when it came out.
The new price seems fair to me considering there isn't much out there for that price. Even less that one cas stash PSK items in the removable slabs like some have done with their Beckers.

YourCornerStore.com has the 7 listed for $71.41 and the 9 for $73.59 with an in stock date of 12/13/08.

What kind of grind do the BK7 and 9's have? I can see there's a secondary bevel but is the primary grind hollow or more or less flat? Also, would it be possible to convex these knives?

Primary and secondary are flat. Yes, it can be convexed. I've done it to my 7.

I hope their heat treat proves to be just as good as on their USMC combat knife. I am impressed with what I have heard about the durability of the USMC combat knife [The Ones Manufactured By K-Bar]

The sheath has room for considerable improvement...although if it were improved, the price would most definitely increase :( .

I paid about $50 for a Crewman a few years ago. Traded it recently for an $80 dollar Helle.:cool:

I like my sheath just fine. With some paracord, I've folded the small bottom flap up, and the overly large top part down over itself. Maybe that's hard to visualize, but it works great.

I ordered the necker from Tomar's Ka-Bar a couple of days ago. The others weren't available yet, but said available soon. Wish I would have waited because now they are available. Without actually posting prices, suffice it to say he easily has the best prices I've seen so far.

Hey Everybody.....

I am sure glad somebody else defended the new pricing !!!... THank you !!!...Truly guys what hard goods have remained the same price for two, maybe trhree years?...
If anyone wants to discuss this and any other knife related topic, I will be at Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville, Tennessee between 9am & 3pm this coming friday....If you have not been there you should see it and I would love to put some faces and voices on your names !!!!!

All Best...

I just wanted to thank you Ethan for getting these great designs to a maker that may stick around a while...we hope. With today's economy you never know.
