New Becker 7 & 9 out

I did not mean to say that the current prices are bad, it was just that the previous incarnation was particularly good. I'll probably pick up one the Kabar/BK 9s to go with my Camillus/BK10.

I ordered the necker from Tomar's Ka-Bar a couple of days ago. The others weren't available yet, but said available soon. Wish I would have waited because now they are available. Without actually posting prices, suffice it to say he easily has the best prices I've seen so far.

I saw the prices at Tomars KaBar too, they are pretty darn good. I have never ordered from him...maybe this is off topic...does anyone have an opinion on this place?

Yeah sorry if I sounded like I was bashing the Becker name. Truth is, I have a BK7 and I love it!!! I got it >FREE< from a friend BNIB. It had never been taken out of the box...I don't know what was up with him and I was hesitant to accept it but he insisted. That desert-tan blade is a looker...

I just got my Necker from them a couple of days ago. Totally flawless transaction.

I'm impressed with the knife. It was pretty sharp out of the box, but the grinding is very rough. I don't normally like coatings on knives, but this one looks good. It feels rather slick though, so a wrap is in order. I like the sheath as well, personally. Ka-Bar says their TDI belt clip will fit on it, so I think I will try one just for kicks.

I think Ka-Bar is going to do Ethan's designs justice from the looks of this. I'll be getting other models for certain.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by Ethan.
I wish I was in Tenn, to meet you. I would be willing to pay more if they came with a better sheath. I dont want to sound insulting, but todays knife industry has one very weak link..that is that the prices keep going up and the quality of the sheaths is going down, if a sheath shows up with the blade at all!:thumbdn: I remember my personal heyday into knives..the 80's..there was a recession going on then also..but every knife I bought came with some kinda sheath..and often times, the sheath was of a high quality leather and well made. I cant believe that this isnt possible today...Gene;)

Hey bladefrienzy....

I hope too...Ka-Bar and it's parent seem to be stable and run by smart people who know how to run a business well....They have weathered many a storm before this and I am certain they will weather this one......Thanks for your concern.....

All Best...

I picked up the BK9 from Tomar's (fast shipping!!). It's very nice - good grinds, the handle feels slightly slimmer than my Camillus BK10 (a good thing, IMO). It also came w/ a small (chinese made) BK13 - a little knife that seems to be a smaller version of the bk11 - it rides in a plastic insert inside the outer pocket. The sheath seems to be of a sturdier nylon, however the liner for the sheath is thinner than the camillus version.

All in all, it seems very nice - I need to get outside & play with it a bit, but I am optimistic as to the performance.

Hey Flotsam.....

The BK13 REMORA is a little gimme for BK&T fans, if it is well recieved I hope we follow up with a US made carbon version......I have been intermitently carrying the proto around for several years and it is, I think, useful beyond it's size.....Hope you like it and I hope you can report back soon on your experience with the COMBAT BOWIE

Im lucky enough to have three of the originals, Necker, BK7 & BK9 & I have to say its great to see these smashing blades available again, especially with a company of Kabars calibre.

The Tactool & the big machete-looking Becker are STILL on my wish list, too.
