No problem. I would normally have left it alone, but the grammatical error implied that the knife in question had been thrown, and I know you are smart enough to not abuse your knives in such a manner. Didn't want people getting the wrong idea.

i'm waiting to see some KaBar action :)

Been thinking about picking up a white box stove, anyone have one?

I think that would fit perfect in my pack for a light weight stove, the videos on youtube make it look pretty sweet......

Thought about putting this in the "Loadout" thread, but it wasn't my complete load. I was going to show a guy my BK10 kydex today, but when I reached into my daily carry pack(not murse ) I kept pulling knives out. You shoulda seen the look on his face. I swear they just accumulate in there throughout the week. Anybody else have this "problem"?

Thanks! It was a failed attempt at an od dye job, believe it or not. I mixed kelly green either dye with dark brown. Soaked the micarta in the mixture several times for about 20 min each. The result was slightly darker than the original color. Then at the suggestion of someone here soaked them in the remainder of the bottle of green . That didn't result any better. After all the failed dyeing I rubbed a couple coats of minwax clear satin wipe-on poly in. That was all there was to it, lol. Long story short, I screwed up.

Thanks man, I'm pretty happy with them ...now. I'm not gonna give up on the OD dream though.

everything on micarta seems to turn out darker than expected. have you though of maybe like the color dye they use to fake alligator skin? like a light green when added to tan canvas might make an OD color your looking for

Nope, not until now anyway. Ain't many alligators up this way, but with the almighty net it could be found. Good idea!

ha you dont need an alligator, just light green leather dye. they texture plastic and dye it a few different shades of green to give an alligator look. I think light green would work based on how ive seen color work on the kabar micarta

May be just a wee bit before I end up with some more micarta. I'm saving for like 80 different things at the moment, but I'll remember that. We'll hafta try it whenever I do get another set though.
