just finished my first ever mtb race - top 10 finish :D holy crap, i have no idea how i managed not to break any bones today. mud and big rocks do not mix...the kicker is i beat my buddy who's normally way faster than i but not on technical terrain apparently. i think i'll retire now and hold this against him forever :p

Way to go JV3. That's not a lightweight accomplishment. That can get intense.

thanks, man. i didn't forget about you guys. i tried taking pics of the hottie racers (the one in stripes was especially hot) but none came out nice...maybe next time. these women in tights were very pretty...and they're not girly girls either! kinda hard to hit on them when they know they just blew by me like i was standing still an hour ago. haha.

thanks, trade. i was packing my bk-10 in my camelbak fully expecting to stab it into someone's tires later because they bumped me into a ditch to get me outta their way but it never happened. i'm kidding...man, mtb'ers are way more polite and friendly! reminds me of hikers where everyone says hi and smiled...every time i pulled over to let a faster racer by me i got a loud "thanks!". road bikers are a completely different breed - snooty and will pass you within inches, risking bumping you and tipping you over into the car lane without so much as a "head's up! on your left!" warning.

go with the junglas! the handle ergonomics is really well thought out. the downward handle tilt reminds me of the machax - it's easier on your wrist for extended chopping.

Thanks Flexxx, and thanks Meat for letting the guys know. Yes, I should be out of this country and Gloryland bound within the next 48-72 hours. I'm so excited to get back home and get some dirt time with my wife and boy. Pics as soon as I get home for you guys! I got a new welcome home toy on its way to my house. I got myself a trail hawk! You guys talk about them so much I figured what the hey for 20 bucks. I will have tons of crap to do, but as soon as I get settled and my wife passes out from exhaustion (from her OCD of making sure the house is clean you perverts. :) ) I will get pics up and I will send off Meat's flag and Murph's patch that he won in my contest!!

I'll catch you guys on the flip side!!!

Anyone here familiar with the Maxpedition Falcon II? I know it's a small pack, but that's what I'm looking for. My only concern is, will it fit, lol. I've read before that they're not for bigger guys, and I wondered if any of you bigger guys have one.

I tried one, Im almost 6' 3" and it was short on me. I have a vulture II now and I like it much better.
