New Benchmade Catalog on line (2009)

I think it's safe to say that when an already existing product's handle becoming available in a different color is the most exciting thing, according to the consumers looking at the catalogue so far, it's safe to say that Benchmade's 2009 line is a dissapointment.

how disappointing, the only new item is an orange grip. If only they had come up with something new, like (off the top of my head) -

580/585 - assisted axis
760BK - titanium framelock, M4 blade, Lum design
890 - assisted Steigerwalt linerlock
950-1 - all black handle Rift
522/527 - Valox handled Presidios
147BK - Nimravus Cub II
150BKSN - Glory knife
10700 - red class, titanium handles, Nak-lok
10350 - red class assisted with 440C blade
3310 - single edge Infidel
9051/9052 - AFO II
5220/5270 - auto Presidios in Valox

if only, sigh :(

lol.. i looked at BM website for a catalog like last night and it still had the old ones up. Weird..

I'm really digging the 150 BKSN Marc Lee Glory. Also, the non-pdf version of that catalog was amazing. So easy to navigate

Im a Benchmade fan, and I didnt see anything I really liked in the new catalog either. Its a shame

A 556 Orange Mini Grip would be great though! Why just the full size?

Hmmm, I've yet to own a Benchmade, most of their models just don't appeal to me.

But I think this year I will pick up a 940, and that Nagara looks interesting too.

Well overall there is not really much that I' m too interested in, except for the Red Class model 10700 Nagara ( Titanium handles with a 100$ MSRP ) and the 890 Torrent.

Oh and the Orange Griptilian looks cool, too!

Actually, I'm impressed. Interesting new offerings. I mean there are only so many ways to re-invent the wheel.

I really like the new Lum. I might add that one to my collection.

There are a few others that I like also, but probably won't get.

I love Benchmade, but their designs are usually not so radically different that I want to have like 10 folders from them. I have four now and that seems to cover all the bases, except for that new Lum.

You guys are nuts. What an awesome lineup. 580/585 Barrage/mini-Barrage,
a 760BK framelock tanto in M4, 890 Torrent, budget versions of the Presidios in 440C with molded handles, grippier G-10 on some models, black G-10 for the Rift, a Nimravus Cub(sold!), that badass looking 150BKSN...wish that was in 1095 instead of 154CM, though.
The red-class Niagara with the blue ti scales is slick, too.
I bought one knife last year, just for the sake of buying it, and a few for gifts, but I'll be buying at least 2 or 3 BMs this year, and would probably buy a couple more if they weren't tip-down only.

Some real innovations this year.

The Lum is badass, and I like the new 1150/1155 pens... other than that: boring.

Something about the Aphid really catches my eye. The blade profile reminds me of a Leek. Plus it's a Red Class that's actually made in the USA.

marc lee glory knife looks damn cool. the concept behind it is sweet too as i am myself a soldier. im not sure i could shell out $350 for one tho :(
the M4 folder is cool too but i was hoping for more.
and i forgot who said it but "more knives, less pens"

Really like the new Lum, though their blade shape/steel choice is a bit odd (M4 in a thick blade). Regardless, I'm getting one when it comes out :D
The Steigerwalt also looks good, but I'm not too big on assisted openers. Not overwhelming, but I don't know how people are complaining that it's a total disappointment.
