New Benchmade Redoubt 430...Why?

I can get over the designs, problem is, IMO they already have much better designs, why those now.
I’m not impressed with the “new” steels they use and price seems little bit on the higher site.
‘See, Spydercos did fit the Endela in between of Endura and Delica, where those new BM models fit or are close to… ?
I like the OTF model but not sold with the plastic body. I like the slip joint, looks very attractive to me, but not price wise… The one in question, that is close to the Grip - yes, nice blade geometry and probably comfy handle. But the steel isn’t justifying the price IMO and they already have tons of options for the Grip as many noticed.

I'm not sure if Knifecenter is joking or this comes from Benchmade, either way, it's ridiculous,
am I the only one that don't see anything HUGE ?

Is the exciting part that it has Red handles or that they are FRN?

I guess it's nice to have the option to get 20cv without paying the premium for milled G10? is the G10/20cv Grip even available from Benchmade anymore?

I can't answer the question... They call it GFN, to me they look just as the old ones, that I think are FRN, just red in this case.
20CV isn't that much of a premium steel, it's upgrade from CPM 154 I guess but they also bumped the price and the way they
announce it is like we are presented with something extraordinary... I don't know. It's a Griptilian. A good, proven design with slightly better steel,
for more money. ..

I didn't see these in earlier announcements, but now that videos are starting the trickle out I'm quite intrigued by the Immunity auto. I dig mini autos right now, and I'm liking what I see in both the full size (<2.5") and the even smaller "partial". The OD green is looking particularly sweet, though I don't love the coating. Whether I'll end up pulling the trigger at the prices they end up at is yet to be seen, but upon first sight they do make my finger itch a bit.

I really like the shape, same as others have said. My first quality knives were the Benchmade griptilian and the AFO which were issued to me in the military so I have a bias. If they offer an aluminum or G10 handle version, I will definitely buy one. Not a fan of plastic.

I got a Redoubt a few days ago. It’s awesome for anyone who’s a Griptillian fan. CPM-D2 is not the same as D2 produced off shore. This knife is like a Super Freek and a Griptillian had a kid and their uncle Adamas helped with the delivery.

The washers are big like on the Freek. The stop pin is as thick as the axis lock bar. The knife fills the hand but it’s really light. The scales don’t flex like on a Bugout. The pocket clip is a first for BM. Rear insert with a cap screw threaded through to hold it in place. This is a true heavy duty work knife that’s also good for edc.

I’m not a fan of the green overlay but I’m sure the aftermarket will take care of that.

I don't know. Spyderco for instance has a lot of knives that are nearly identical, except the dimensions are different enough to make things interesting. Maybe if I can handle one I will see it differently.

If it sells then I can't fault them, just seems like a missed opportunity from my perspective.
Yes, and Spyderco will put out the run of the mill ti framelock with out a lockbar insert and terrible lock stick…. People still buy them up.

I've had several of my Benchmades "stick their locks": not a unique problem for Spyderco...

Back in the early 2000s lock stick meant the lockup was secure. Now it’s a problem lol. I miss the good ole’ days lol. Knives didn’t change. People did.
If you are a knife user, lock stick is a feature; if you are a knife fondler it is a bug.

Yea that’s how I look at it.

Same goes with HRC testing. I use all my knives, from my plastic BMs and Spydies, all the way up to my Hinderers. I never once had a “performance issue” where I thought. “Lemme test this”. Lol.

Wait until the Lawyers put knives in their sights...
"Tired of all that sharpening that you have to senselessly perform on all of your knives? They were obviously poorly designed; and used substandard materials in their construction. My Legal team will ascertain if you are eligible for a cash reward to indemnify you for your losses"

Wait until all the late night commercials come on. “We’re you injured in a traffic accident? Did your wife cheat on you and now she wants the house? Does the lock stick on your knife? Call Mo, Larry and Curly, attorneys at derp”

And then there are the required warnings of side-effects:
"Warning! Knife usage can cause sterilityblindnessringwormsbankruptcydivorcehairlossbadbreathmaritalaffairsunwantedpregnancypoorcreditratingslossofappetiteweightgainloosebowelsandpooreyesight. Please consult your physician before handling knives."

Followed by the Flex Seal commercial. Because there’s nothing better than a dude yelling at you from atop a bottomless boat, and he’s not screaming for help.

Lock stick doesn't have to be an either/or scenario.

You can get a secure lock that doesn't stick.....and you can do it without a lockbar insert or carbidized lock.

Lock stick is *usually* caused by too much spring tension or too steep of an interface angle or a combination of both.

Hello. I bought one and was disappointed. I changed the scales and now it's my favorite EDC.
