New BK10s

Cool news. I'm excited to strip, de-ramp, maybe sharpen the swedge, and put some micarta or ranger green TKC G10 on it. Then some sort of sheath. Also I need a ford raptor to carry it around in.

:D Can i second that one? I may need 2 raptors though, one for me and one to store my 10 in when im not carrying it.

Stripped and micarta'd sounds like a great plan. I kind of like the thumb ramp, for some reason, so that will stay, unless I change my mind.

And, my old school 10. Love this thing, it's one of my favorite blades. I think even more so than my beloved 2:

A comparison shot thickness wise of the 2 and 10:

Yup, they're just in the same length class. I mean, I like my FFG 2, but that's after extensive modding. I'm not a one for hefty knives, unless they're really big.

Arg, I need one of these so bad. I've tried filling the hole in my life with other knives. Condor, cold steel, and whatever else I could find. But it doesn't even begin to fill the void. Honestly this is like the last knife that I really want. Everything else is on the "long list" and that list isn't all that long.

Is it wrong I wish it was 1/4" thick? I think the bk2, Esee 5, bravo 1, etc, turned me into a thickness snob. Even though all logic tells me I do not need my steel that thick. Or better yet how about a 1/4 and a 3/16 thick model. Then I can even spend more money and make my wife even madder:). Regardless I can't wait to own my first bk10.

Well the BK2 already fills the .25" niche and the BK10 the .188. Sure they're not the same knife otherwise but I don't really see the need for a .25 BK10 and a BK2.

Oh hey, you're only a couple hours down the road from me, hoss. Is the RBK on your list?

It is but that's a ways off.

The thinner stock is why I like the BK10 so much. I figure with how much the ESEE3 can take at just .125", the BK10 fills that next step up for me without being a "chopper" sized blade.

I was thinking something along those lines...but mod the swedge to a bowie style. Like a 2/17 cross breed.

There's lots of BK10 mods floating around. Many people modded their BK10LE's.
