New BK16 grind issue?

My new (second) BK16 came in a day early, and something struck me as soon as I unsheathed it a few minutes ago... The grind seems off.

It has less belly than I remember, it's a straight, flat grind to the tip. I remember my last BK16 having more belly to it. The tip almost seems "hooked".

Perhaps it's just my eyes, but something seems off here. Your thoughts?

Looks off to me too. Dex had at least one like that as well.

Ugh wood splitter. Making me nervous :( I havent ordered mine yet. I hope mine comes perfect.

I'm sure it will. I just seem to be a magnet for things that aren't quite right lately. Oh well.

The question now is to send it back for a replacement, or use it?

I've seen a couple like that, mine has got a lot fuller belly then that But I wouldn't worry if I got one like it, Just gives you an unique version.

Use it, you won't notice a performance difference, you will after about 5 sharpening's, you'll thank me later.....:D

I disagree with that. I have seen similar posts like that as well. I understand, it's a tool and such, but I want what I pay for. If I order an automobile, and it comes in with a dent, and they tell me it adds character, I wouldn't be a happy camper. I want what I pay for.

I had an RC 3 a few years ago with the same issue. I obsessed over it until I could not bear it any longer and had to sell it.
Before you use it or sharpen it decide if it is really the knife you want or try to exchange it.

I'm going to send this one back, and order a new one (so I get it before the weekend). The lack of belly will drive me nuts.

ya know, I've never even thought to compare the grinds on my knives to see if they are even or off... I just use them and am happy! But that is also just me.

Shame on ka-bar. I hope in the near future, rowen or tops acquires the becker designs.

In their opinion this knife passed based on their tolerance on the the inspection points. Haha. This is an example that not all American made are quality products.
