New BK76!!!

For the procrastinators in the house, Kabar's "Cy-bar" sale started today and the Bk76 is included with a significant markdown.

Good for you guys that got this for the discounted price. Me, I’m done supporting them by buying things immediately. I bought four on day one, that’s a $400 price difference from the sale. Frankly, this is the third time I’ve had this dynamic happen and I’m bothered enough that I may never buy another KA-BAR. They might have lost a customer.

The 76 is the only “limited run special” knife I’ve purchased from KaBar. I agree that it’s pretty annoying to find out that I could have waited and saved $100. That money would have come in handy buying Christmas presents for my kids. I feel a bit cheated. Lesson learned, and I won’t make the same mistake again.

it's been 6 months since it was released, and they released a different special run 3 weeks ago, so not like they dropped the price a month after it came out.
think of the folks who waited more than 6 hours for the BK98 - and how fast it sold out.
the 20 & 29 never had a price break and they sold out in significantly less than 6 months.

I hear you 1066vik 1066vik , but this has happened to me three times now.

It’s hard to support a business that keeps making me feel marginalized for being an early and steadfast supporter of their product. If anyone at OFFICIAL_KA-BAR OFFICIAL_KA-BAR reviewed my buying history, that point would be illustrated in spades. We’re talking about a $400 difference with my initial purchase, that is significant.

I won’t be buying their products immediately anymore, hell, I think I’m done supporting this business. Plenty of other things for me to spend my hard-earned money on.

I can totally relate.... I know being a Fan, and watching where my money goes is two totally different things....

Heck, maybe woo us and lure us In with actually NEW models.
Becker designed....by an Actual Becker, you know.....the name on the knives.

*Sorry, rant over.
Not a huge fan of Marketing depts. I work with a lazy marketing dept often and it gets frustrating.

I don’t believe KABAR had any intention of lowering the price on the newly released 76. For them to do it sales must have been extremely slow. Black Friday, Cy-Bar and end of year sales is a good way to clear slow moving inventories. Just about all manufactured products are subject to this. KABAR I know has had several clearance sales over the years. I paid full price for one 76 and grabbed another from the Cy-Bar sale. No regrets here. No blame either.
It’s just how businesses sometimes have work to survive.

The 16 rules as far as I'm concerned in the tweener lineup, it's perfect in so many ways. If it was made in SV35 it would be my absolute favorite blade, PERIOD !!!!! The 16 and the 9 will cover 99% of all fixed blade knife needs.
Well, it only took me a little over 4 years to get my perfect knife (or 2) with a better steel, when they showed up Friday I just knew my knife buying was done !!!! (At least that's what I told my wife 😁.)

Finally! Ordered Nov 27 and it got here today Dec 10th. I was a bit worried, Ka-Bar has always shipped super fast, even with their holiday warning, but the wait is worth it!
Speaking of wait, I haven't pulled out the scales but does this feel lighter? As others have mentioned, kinda disappointed with the choice of sheath but I have some leather, I'll put her in one of her own. The vinegroon finish will look really cool with the blue scales.

I ordered one of these and received it last week. I'm a little disappointed as my knives has a scratch in it that is deep enough that you can feel it with your finger nail. Regardless it is super nice and I will be looking to get a leather sheath for it sometime soon.

I love the Magnacut BK76, but it really deserved better than the sloppy seconds plastic BK18/19 sheath. So much better in leather.

Did you make the leather sheath? It looks amazing! Do you make sheaths?

No. It’s a JRE Industries model K. I wet formed it, then once it was dry I melted some sno-seal into the leather with a heat gun. The sno-seal makes it much stiffer, so you end up with a more secure fit, more like kydex. They make nice sheaths at a reasonable price. I also have a few for other knives.

Nooooooo!!!
Two days too late I read this.
I just spent an exorbitant amount to have a Blackbird SK5 shipped to me in SE Asia.
The BK16 is my favorite knife of all, ever (but it wasn't available in stainless which I need because of our humidity).

Some daylight pics; comparison with the BK16…

That’s awesome.
I bought one from tactical elements as
I believe they have acquired the bulk of the surplus stock.

….haven’t received mine yet but I mean a BK-16 in a magnacut… might be one of the best blades ever produced. Would you recommend me buying a second one?
