NEW Buck 110 History Webpage

When trying to identify some of the 110's when you need to know how many and on which side the end bolster opposite the blade has. Is there a way to help make the pins show up when you can't see them at all?
I have some older 110's that I cannot make out the bolster pins at all. I am sure they are there but they just don't show up.
Hi Ged,

Apologies on the late reply to your request for pin info above. Being new on posting here, I guess I don't have notifications set properly.

There are ways to look with a magnifying loupe and sometimes just the right angle of light.

Drop me an email on my history page, locatedat the very bottom. I'd be more than happy to try and figure them out with you. There are other ways to identify them, but difficult to explain precisely.

James, I learned this from Joe Houser.

When trying to see the bolster pins that are invisible due to great polishing do this:
1. Rub the bolster against your bluejeaned pantleg for 30 seconds (creating friction heat)
2. bring that bolster up to your mouth and exhale on the bolster and the pins will become visible

Don't ask me why this works but it does for me.

Michael and Roger - Thank you both for your answers and help. I ordered some individual boxes yesterday to store some of my older 110's in and want to mark on the ends of the boxes the
version numbers etc. Once I get the boxes in about a week I will try your suggestion and or reach out to Michael. I greatly appreciate you both.

Ok another thought in my conversation with myself lol. When can we see a guide like this outstanding guide for the 112 Ranger?
this guide has inspired me to start looking for these old 110’s. Now that i know what i am looking for and can always reference this guide in the field when i am in doubt. Thanks so very much!!
