New Buck Hartsook

I have one and never used it,same sheath as above post except knife& Sheath are Black.. for me it is almost to small...so I gave it to my son as a necker on a black beaded chain

Ditto.

Carry it for a while on a lanyard or neck rig and see what you use it most for. I have both models the Smidgen and the hartsook sv30. I put kydex scales on each to give them a little more finger grab and ranger band a P-38 or a spark striker to the sheath. I've never pushed it to abuse level but they can get scary sharp and are great for general use.

Well, I've been carrying mine around for a couple of days and I find it surprisingly handy for typical, mundane cutting chores; it's greatest virtue is that it is effortless to carry and you don't notice it until you need it. I've had it hanging from the carabiner on a beltloop and it was always easily availbale without being uncomfortable or in the way.

When the novelty wears off, it will probably become a kit knife.

OK, what is the difference between the smidgen and the hartsook, and did the hartsook get a new better sheath? cool!

Smidgen has a better sheath, no black coating, and is garden variety 420 steel.
The Hartsook I bought a couple of months ago has the same sheath as the pic of the Smidgen, I believe all newer Hartsooks come with the new and improved sheath.

I have an old-stock Hartsook---it's a great little knife. I keep it in my watch pocket when wearing jeans or outdoor-oriented pants, and on my keychain at others times in a roatation with my Ladybug3.

It's great.

Wow!

I intend to buy a new Hartsook... I guess the S30V steel is better than the Smidgen version, don´t ?

Please, can someone tell me exactly what it Hartsook thickness, in milimeters ?

Thanks in advance!
