Subscribing as I can't wait to see the finished product. Very nice looking blade so far.

Here are the pics of the knife finalized, and the great stand that Burt imagined and built for it:

Look on his works, ye mighty, and despair! :p

Love the blade. Excellent grind and hamon.
Real cool stand.
Isn't it great when they finally come together?

Ouch......I don't want to touch the computer screen for fear that thing would cut me:D That is REALLY nice!

Roger beat me! :)
I was wondering what the hamon would turn out like coated with Satanite like that.

Burt Foster is among THE very top makers in my book.
Congrats,Joss!

The octagonal facets were a complete surprise. Very interesting how the rivets are positioned exactly on the inside edge of the bevel. Tasteful and leaves that flat plane clutter-free.

I like the presentation stand aspect. Yes, a sheath would also compliment it as well, but this is truly better-suited. Let's face it, it's a display piece, meant for a quick stab at an unruly guest. :p

Congrats to the both of you. Very fine.

OUTSTANDING!

This is a very cool knife. The integral dagger idea is just SO NICE!

The facetted bolster was a suggestion I made. Burt thought it over and decided to go with it.

The steel is W-2.

Daggers are not my thing, but Burts skills and talent are unquestionable and well demonstrated here!

...... I keep trying to tell him we are related, he won't believe me, I think he just doesn't want to give me a family discount:grumpy: :D
