NEW BUY! ZT 0300BW Any first hand experience???

Craytab, I hope that have fixed that. But if not I probably won't notice after a while. Odd question but what size hands do you have? That knife seems to fit you pretty damn well.

I hope they have changed that feature as well but I sort of doubt it as most assisted opening knives don't have a detent hole to help keep them closed. That is achieved by the torsion bar/assisting mechanism.

It does fit my hand well. I have medium hands. But I could easily see it working for larger hands and especially with gloves. There is plenty of real estate on that handle and it contours to fit many hand sizes.

That would come in handy, haha But if you Stabbed a piece of wood and bent the knife to the side. Would you expect to bring up broken wood or a broken knife? I've had good and bad luck with spyderco tips in the past.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It would mostly depend on how deeply you stabbed, the hardness of the wood, and how much bent the knife. Depending on the Spyderco model, they can have very fine tips, like the PM2. The 301 I have does not have a fine tip!

Well that's the one I was asking about was the Military. The ZT I bought specifically for that reason. I want a go to hard use knife I can pry on without having to worry about it if SHTF. But if it doesn't have a detent have you done any research into how much it is to get one put on it?

The Military, and similarly the PM2 have what I think of when I hear "weak tip" (I own both). ZT 301 (or 300), no way. At least with the knife I have that has no detent hole, if I was unable to get a new torsion bar for it, I believe the blade would not stay closed either as well, or not at all. Not a deal breaker but for sure a concern. And no, I have not looked into the cost of getting a detent hole drilled in. Shouldn't be that much but there might be some warranty issues. I don't know though.

By the way, what do you think of the grip? Some says it's too aggressive and needs sanded, some say more knives should be more like it.

The grip is fine for me. But I don't think the grip on my 0560 or Benchmade 810 are too aggressive either.
