New camera and lights

Who knew photography could be so contentious? :p

Great pics, Chuddy Bear!

Vasilli is right I have a KodakZ1275. I just picked it cause it looked nice. :D

I also bought a little light box kit that came with two lights from Wallyworld. I then bought a separate 150 watt natural light bulb and a clamp on reflector. I put the lights that came in the kit on each side and I have the 150 watt bulb over the top shining down. I also have the camera set up on a tri-pod.

I actually spent a lot of my younger years photographing wildlife with my Nikkormat FT3 35mm camera. This deal with close ups and lights is something new to me.

I am pretty happy overall with my pictures so far. I am sure I will play with the lighting a little, but if I spend too much time taking pics my hands will get soft and I wont be able to stitch fifteen sheaths in one day. I have only done that a couple times and it isnt any fun.

I am not sure how this discussion got so heated. I was just proud of my pictures and I thought you guys would appreciate them. :D

My wife just looks at me like I'm crazy when I try to show her pics of sheaths.

As far as anything technical concerning digital photographs there are others here who are actually qualified to answer, heck I had to talk to Lunde to figure out why my color was off. My 35mm doesnt have a white balance setting.

Chuddy Bear,

Show us your scanned wildlife shots from your youth! I'll show you mine if you show me yours.:D

Nice work, Chuddy. I have a feeling your better photos (and your new maker's mark!) are going to help immensely with your leatherworking enterprise. Cool!

I owe Chuck and my peers here an apology for running off at the mouth in another mans thread. My intent wasn't really to tell anyone how they should shoot pics. My pics since I've been here are from a point and shoot, and not a good example of my days as an in house studio photographer. I felt that some comments made about others methods and skills were abrasive and that always gets my fur up. Of course the comments as to artistry and visual communication are a better example of what needed to be said. Thanks for that.

And Chuck, you know how I feel about your work. Keep on keepin' on Bro!

Way I see it you dont have a darn thing to apologize for, Nohz came in with an attitude of arrogance (even the pro's are wrong  ) and you simply defended yourself and the others, end of story. Culture difference or not, theres no excuse for put downs.
