Purchased a Camillus era BK10. Sweet blade, love it. I've always like the looks of the flat micarta scales, but didn't know if I would like them comfort wise. Actually, I like them better than the contoured grips, which really surprised me. Came with a custom leather sheath. Murph sent me a stock sheath, but it rattles a bit. Any way to tighten up the plastic insert? Dammit Murph, next time I mooch something from ya, can you please make sure it fits? :D Overcast out, but took a few shots anyways:

You should have tried to talk him into sending the sheath that I made for him. Maybe he kept it for his 2; I don't know, or maybe he burt in his forge?


Either way nice score brotha!!!


P.S.

I actually like the old stock sheath. Slide a thin strip of leather down the insert (on the blade side. wide enough for it to fit tight and not slide out) and you'll be golden. That's what I did. :thumbup:

Bought it to use, just don't get much of a chance to use them. Hopefully going camping next weekend though.
 
Looks good. If Ka-Bar doesn't roll out with a full production version soon I'm gonna have to chop down a larger blade.
 
Man, I love the looks of the old micarta. I've got to find a few sets of those someday.

Thanks guys, appreciated. I didn't realize the grinds dip down nearing the ricasso on the old 10's.

Didn't see this. Good idea Nick. I still have some of the leather you gave to me.
 
Good looking Knife you have there and I think everybody should have at least one of those ~~ you get tired of it then ship it off to me me to play with.!*
 
congrats man! i've thought of selling a few of my knives but then i realized that i will probably only end up buying them again, so i figured i would save myself some time and just keep em. :)
 
I traded off my BK10LE. Couldn't make myself use it. Was told about this deal, and jumped all over it. I got it from Andy Roy. This thing is probably the sharpest knife I own.
 
Ha, those are universal sheaths, good luck with no rattle! I have a colustom pocket from Nick that fits damned well!

those are pretty.

That variation in the grind is probably just standard margin of error in the manufacturing process. (He says never having held a 10)

I actually Googled Camillus 10's, and some are like that, and some not. Here's a photo from UCOPO's sales thread. It looks the same. I found others like that as well:

Congrats on the 10 man, love those Camillus scales too, they've got some character to them.
 
I'm curious how that set of scales got past Guyon. Must have been busy that day and overlooked them somehow.
