Aerius - as cool as your idea sounds, I don't think it needs it! You can easily flick out the blade on the Maxx by hitting one of the flippers with your index finger. Either that or thumb the blade out using the fipper on the blade spine. either way, the blade opens quickly and easily.

Toothed - the handle slab opposite the lock bar is "scooped out" as you say to aid in helping you get a good purchase on the lockbar with your thumb. This relief creates more room for you to wedge your thumb in between the handle slabs.
 
This not a crticism at all, just my personal preference, but...
I wish the anodizing on the MAXX was more in the rainbow spectrum and not quite as dark. I really love tacky irridescent colors, probably from too much fun back in college.

Bruce - keep in mind that the pictures were of the production prototype, and things are subject to change. It is my understanding that they are wanting to go with sort of a rainbow effect. Mostly gold with some highlights of blue and purple. You'll have to ask Darrel specifically on this when he gets back from Vegas.

You know that the colors that Darrel comes up with when anodizing are usually dependant on how many rudy tudys he has had. :D ;)
 
:D :cool: Just placed my order for a Camillus MADD MAXX. Like an IDIOT:o :mad: I sold my DDR MADD MAXX, but now will be able to partially redeem myself:D

There ain't no feeling in the world like swinging open a 5.5 MADD MAXX

blues and purples, rock on! Were the only insane family in the neighborhood with a purple minivan (long story, it's actually my wife's) Let's give ole DDR as many rudy tudy's as he needs. What exactly is a rudy tudy????
 
What a great bunch of new knives Camillus is coming out with. As far as I am concerned Camillus is easily the number one knife company in the industry at this time. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the offerings that I have seen. Well done Will!

Gator - hmm...Will didn't give me that info. I'd venture a guess that it's around 55 - 58 Rc. Post your inquiry again when Will returns, he'll get it for ya :)

when i got to handle one of these bad boys a few days ago,thats what surprised me...the handle color is a lot darker in the picture...just wait,i think you'll like it
 
Am I the only one that thinks that the dagger-bladed MAXX looks about 50x better than the clip point version? Hell, if this production MAXX featured the dagger blade I would already have my preorder in. As it is now... :(

I agree, the Maxx was made to have the dagger blade. However, from a production point of view the dagger blade is MUCH more difficult to produce and would result in a significant cost increase.

Will and the gang at Camillus took the road allowing for the best knife at the best price. :cool:
 
Actually, my favorite is the spear point blade but the bowie is a close second with the dagger coming in third. To each his own...
;)
 
Amazing job on the Cuda Maxx!
It's about time another company showed it has the balls to put it all out there. I'm sure to get at least one when they are unleashed upon the market.

I had one of the original DDR MADD MAXX's with the clip point blade and believe me you will like it! It has a long clip that comes to a needle point that will be useful for many a task. I can't wait to get the Camillus version :D :D
