New Case Caliber Folders?

YES!!! I have been trying to help him with it for years. The withdrawal kicks in and he jumps back in stronger than before!!!!

Its not that bad, but terminal may be the best way to describe Rolf's sickness :D

My Nef, Kevin, gets all my knives.
And, it's my wife's check book but she's on to it.

I would actually like to see the zytel in orange or yellow. Something easy to spot if dropped in the woods. That's the niche I see these knives in, so I think that would be helpful. Drop a green...er, I mean tan (shrugs) knife in the woods and it might be gone.

Guys- More colors will be coming. I spoke with Case today. :)
And, a friend of mine is writing an article about the new Case Caliber folders and guess who Case is sending a Mako to try out?

Your nephew Kevin?

The more I look at it the more I like that Mako. The tan colored handle though is a bit drab though. If they offer it with a brighter "cheerier" handle I might have to acquire one for kicks. I'm kinda a Bucklite guy by nature and one of these could compete well with my 426 or 422.

Pert- No. but when I'm done with the Mako, I will give it to my Nef, Kevin.
I'm looking forward to the Mako myself.

Got the Mako!
Guys, please listen and GET one of these new Case Caliber folders. I'm speechless. Believe or not. :D
Case really, really, did a fantastic job with this new folder line!!

Cool. Is there going to be a Mako in Black, in the future?

I do believe so. Case is really starting to expand their horizons.
FWIW, I got sucked in to the whole "tactical" knife thing. I know this Mako folder can handle any job I ask it to do except abuse.

I have several knives from the Caliber series. They're nice, they really are. My only problem with them is that the scales are not flush on the backs of almost every single example that I've seen. This is nothing that can't be solved with a little bit of sanding of course. I like the look of the plain tan the best so far, but my favorite is the single-bladed camo version. Ditch the stupid camo pattern and you have a superb, almost weightless little knife.
When Case starts making more color versions of the zytel peanuts, I will buy every single one. But leave off the scissors guys, because the scissors Case has been putting in their peanuts lately are pathetic.

You know what's even better than the Caliber series? The carbon fiber series. They're amazing. I've carries one of the little lockbacks in my pocket with my keys and change every day for a couple months now to see how well the carbon fiber wears. It doesn't. It doesn't wear at all. The thing still looks brand spankin' new. If anything, the carbon fiber is wearing away my keys. And it's light as a feather. I have a folding hunter in carbon fiber in my pocket right now, and it's a beauty. 2 bladed folding hunters are usually boat anchors, but this one is nice and light.

Thanks Moon.
The handles are a little thicker but with the light weight, these feel great in the pocket.

I'm gonna try one. Sell me on a smaller EDCish one. I'm leaning toward the full size trapper in camo. I have always felt that camo handled knives are stupid (I like to find 'em when I drop 'em) but I don't like the tan at all. Peanut is kinda cool tho...

Yep, definitely more of a "gray" than a tan. The color attracted me to it in the first place, along with the lower price, since Case's BSA knives are always a couple bucks more than the rest.

I know for sure that my Peanut and my son's Hobo will be going on our next big Scouting adventure in October, a Traveling Camporee to Boston with the whole Council. I don't know the count yet but we've taken >400 Scouts on these Camporees, our Council is the only one that does it in the entire country. We have 24 in our Troop going so far

Rolf, we need pics of the Mako!
