New Case Swayback Jack - First Impressions

I'm quite sure you'll like that Gent. I don't use the pen on my SBJ much either or the one on my mini copperhead (my most used small pocketknife). Just bought another SBJ in deep canyon bone and tru-sharp. I like it just as much as the chestnut bone/CV model I started with. Ed J

I have two Jacks (both Chestnut CV), a Jake in Damascus, and a Gent. Ended up giving the gent to my son because it felt too thin. It does ride in the pocket well though.

I thought I might dispell the myth that you can't cut an apple in half with a SBJ. It's easy enough if you use technique rather than brute force.

It's most certainly doable although after a couple of weeks I still prefer the trapper for food prep mostly because the longer blade keeps the food bits farther from the pivot.

I tend to use the wedge method w/ the SBJ.
