New Cold Steel DVD's

Don't expect to spend $20 on something and have it perform like a $500 product.

Never said I did. I do think there should be a standard of quality though.

"ready to plow through the toughest chores life can dish out. Each features the distinctive weight-forward balance of our “top-of-the-line” models, and always present their edge on an angle so they’re guaranteed to “bite” deep with every stroke"

Sure doesn't sound like they are describing a blade that will fold the edge in 3 or 4 wacks. So are they just misleading on their cheaper blades? Or are they misleading on the more expensive ones also?

Like other knife companies Cold Steel also has low end, med and high end blades.

Seems to me like they have low end, not so low end and medium end. If I am going to spend the money for a "high end" knife, I can think of much better companies to buy from. Swords? I would never even consider CS.

Yeah, that's for a matchete when compared to other matchetes...... ;)

Most matchetes are crap really, they break, chip, crack, bend easy etc.

The CS matchetes are a little better than that, but they still have to be a matchete in that they won't snap or chip out of they hit a rock or something while being easy to maintain in the field.

There is some Hype built into the videos as LCT gets very excited about his products.

In the end the products are excellent, I have been using then since 1986 so I can tell you they really are good.

Also if you watch my Videos on YT you will find I also own other knives other than CS.....

I have one of the newer Cold Steel Bushman knives. It's held up quite well and still does everything I ask of it. I've even used if for some cross-grain batoning of hardwood right up against metal when installing tool handles, and it did much better than other tools have for me.

Despite having used it fairly hard, it still looks nearly brand-new.

So, I'd have to say that I'm impressed that a "cheap" CS product like the Bushman holds up to the abuse that many much more expensive knives are designed to handle.
