New Collaboration with JK Knives

Side topic: I plan to steal an idea from Fiddleback Forge's Friday sales and put 10% of my profits from my designs to a charity of my choosing. I'm leaning towards a military related charity focusing on mental illness, but I'm also looking into a wilderness/outdoors related advocacy group. Maybe both.

My intents as a business person have always been to use my positions to better people's lives, and this is one way to do that. I hope to do it more directly as a leader of people as a business owner or senior leader of someone else's business, in the long run (currently do this as a low-level manage as an employee of someone else).

I will announce where I will give as I get closer to being able to have something to sell to y'all. I get more and more excited to work with John and customers as my business plan continues to come together, even if it's in the current small capacity on blade forums.

Side, side note: <--Got a new membership level so I can properly support BF and offer services to the BF community :)
If you need help picking a military cherody let me know. A lot are worthless

As I have mentioned before, I am a disabled vet and really appreciate this. I know a lot of good vet orgs that do great work and have helped me in the past adjust to my life as it is now. So thank you. Awesome idea.

Gents, I would love to get your input via PM on a good organization to give to. I'm aware some are less helpful than others. I've been talking with a family member that is pretty on top of things like this so I have one in mind that he thinks is good that is the front runner for now.

Actually, I'll just PM you both for your opinions. Thanks the offer of help.

The top one looks like it would do well for skinning, I really don't see one that would make a good EDC but I have been wrong a lot, using them might make a difference though.;):)

That top one is sick nasty

Maybe that's what I should call it. I was original thinking the critter skinner, then maybe the snaggle tooth. But the sick nasty knife has a certain tone to it :D

Let's be honest, I would be competing with John's hurley creek lite if I aimed directly at EDC. That knife is a great EDC blade shape. These should still work well in that regard, but I do prefer straighter edges myself for EDC. These should have a different appeal to them, or at least that was the goal.

They look great! It is nice to see some more unique blade shapes without going extreme. To me knives have become stagnant, either tried and true designs or art. Not a lot in the middle ground.

And no offense to John intended, but if I get him for Christmas list, I think I need to get him a high res camera or fancy backdrop for his knife photos. His are almost as bad as mine.

These are going to look sweet in the wild!

Very interesting designs, I like the 2nd better, more of a straighter spine and a usable point. Glad they could be created to explore the possibilities of a design.

I think that one will be much more interesting to the crowd interested in more classical designs. It's modeled pretty heavily on the overall character of the marbles woodcraft and similar designs fron that era, at least the blade shape is. The curvy one is much more of an experiment and much less of a conservative design, straying a lot further from what I tend to see, and frankly from what I tend to buy. There is more of a utility purpose behind that one's design though, that really interests me in trying and having some others try.

The more I look at the first knife, the more I like it. It is like a small Nessmuk but with a finger guard and lower spine. This should make it less blade heavy then a lot of Nessmuk knives, making it more agile and accurate for slicing. Plus for my failing coordination, I do appreciate at least a small finger guard. Should be great in a camp kitchen and small woodworking crafts.

How much is the sick nasty is the real question

Price should be right about $130 without a sheath. $145 with a leather pocket sheath/slip. We're going to run everything in black micarta for in-stock items. Other handle options are special order only for now.

There will be 5 available near the end of January, assuming nothing major is found out during testing between now and then, but so far I think any adjustments will be minor.

As a reminder, free sharpening for all knives for the life of the knife. You cover shipping to me is your only cost, I'll cover return shipping.

Edit: Prices above include shipping. That's to your door pricing to Continental US. International shipping will require paying the difference of U.S. shipping and actual, roughly anything over $8 (standard small box flat rate).

I'm late to the party but I wish this joint venture all the success life has to offer!
Kudos to you for having a dream and following it thru.
However, I do have one observation, black micarta? I KNOW you dearly love orange.
