I've enjoyed reading many reviews here and decided to post one of my own. First impressions and pics of my new Condor Bushlore.

Specs on mine: 1/8" thick, 4 5/16 from tip of blade to scales, and 9 1/4 OAL
Hardwood handle.

I picked the Bushlore up for around $25, so cost wasn't a big issue here. First pics out of the wrapper...

I took a few more shots of the knife to give an overall feel for it.

First Impressions:
This is one heckuva knife for $25!
While the fit and finish aren't as nice as my Ratmandu, it IS very nice. The grinds are pretty even down the length of the blade, and the grind comes all the way back to the scales. Unlike what I've seen on earlier models. The Edge is JUST hair shaving sharp... I'll resolve that a little later. The knife is Very comfortable in my hand (I have medium size hands) and I really like the 1/8 in steel on this one compared to the original design. Comes with a nice heavy leather sheath and if you make this thing slip out of it, you must be doing some kind of voodoo-dance on steroids. VERY nice tight fit!
I'll post a follow up when I get a chance to go out and use the Bushlore, but right now I am extremely satisfied with this knife. I appears that Condor Tool and Knife, listened to customer comments and offered a nice update on an already popular design, while keeping the price point down for the everyday man. Kudos Condor

That's not a bad looking knife for 25 bucks It would make an excellent alternative to a mora or similarly priced knife.

Glad to see more people getting Condors out there. They are great knives for a great price.

Agreed! I was praising Condor on here before most folks even knew they existed, and they've come a long way in that time. Even though they make the occasional mistake, they're truly committed to producing a quality product, and the 2011 Bushlore is a perfect example.

i did....i can order from the states but then i have to worry about duty and other fees. i've been checking online but cant seem to find any Canadian dealers.
has anybody up here in the great north ordered any? how much was the duty/fees?

This looks like an improvement. I bought the original, as as far as I was concerned it was worthless. The knife was way to thick and the inch of steel between the blades and the scales worthless, and the only thing sharp on the knife was the tip. The sheath on the other hand was very nice.

This nice looks like a 200% improvement, thanks for posting this I might have to check this out.

The folks at Condor were supposed to be sending me the new ones...but didn't. I'm sending them back to exchange for the new ones, but in the meantime I have the 2011 micarta-handled Bushlores (sooooooooo cool!) and the new Mini Bushlores (soooooo cute! :p)

Just an FYI: I ordered 2 from a website that's no longer selling them - received one new model and one old model. Called up Rick at condor customer service, mailed back the old model for an exchange and a new model is on the way to replace it.

If you get an old model, not a terribly difficult process to get it swapped out with a new one.

Thanks folks. I have an original one, even tracked down one of the original left handed sheaths since I'm a southpaw, but the blade is just a little to think. May order an new one and if I get another old one, see if Condor will swap it.

flavc3 i've been buying from the states for decades and have rarely had to pay duties on an order!Just make sure you use the US post (USPS) as the shipper! Avoid UPS and Fed-ex as they charge $50 brokerage fees! If its under $100 99% of the time there will be no duties, at least that has been my experience!
I bought two Condor Bushlores from New Graham Knives (U.S) just before Christmas and there were NO duties taxes collected by Canada Post.
(Hopefully W&W's in Vancouver will decide to start selling Condor sometime!)

Thanks for the Condor news and photos. I have one of the older versions, and just ordered a new one based on your post.

If anyone has both the older thicker and the newer thinner Bushlore, will the new one fit the older sheaths?

Good looking knife for the money, I like the 1/8 much more than the thinner Moras. Imacasa do the steel? If so it's got to be decent steel. May have to pic up a few of these to use for classes.

....but in the meantime I have the 2011 micarta-handled Bushlores
Now this sounds good too, what is the price difference over the wooden handles?

***EDIT ATF****

Found a price. At double the cost it's not quite as prctical for supplying them to students, but I may just have to get myself one :)

To the best of my knowledge it does--when I was talking to Rick about exchanging the 2010 pieces I got sent by accident he initially wanted me to send back just the knives, as the sheaths would fit the new ones. Then he realized "wait--what will I do with all the knives without sheaths?" :p So it's not confirmed 100%, but it should work just fine.

I highly recommend it. I can snap some photos if you'd like--they look bad a**!!!:thumbup: Way better looking/feeling than the generic product image would have you believe.
