Here is the text of a post over at the dealer forum which I will put here due to the "hot topic" on this forum at the moment (individual vs. dealer status):

Fellow members,

As a long standing member of this community who has had many satisfactory transactions with fellow members I felt the need to make this announcement.

Recently I started a small (VERY) for the moment company whose purpose is twofold: (1) to provide knives and other equipment to fellow professionals and knife nuts and (2) to give myself a part time "job" of sorts. The name of my company is The Edge Equipment

As I am a certified knife nut myself this will be a labor of love. I will strive to provide a very competitive price and excellent service to any who choose to use me for their purchases.

Initially I will offer a few items which I believe may be of interest to my fellow forumites and will focus primarily on serivicing my local area and most likely will work the occasional gun and knife show as time permits.

I still have a fairly large number of personal knives purchased at or near retail prior to obtaining my dealer paperwork (just this week) and may still post on the Individual Forum occasionally. Also, I have an avid interest in custom knives and have no business relationship with any of the custom makers (ergo if I post one of these knives it is an individually purchased knife, not a "company" product).

Please feel free to email me with any questions, comments or cutlery needs!

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Waldo

Waldo, I don't think anyone is on a dealer witch hunt, but if you buy knives with the intent of selling them you are probably a dealer.
If a dealer sells his own knives, he is still a dealer.

Hi all,

I am meeting with my web consultant today to determine where to get started on this. I hope to have a basic site up in the next few weeks with at least contact info and specials listed on it and build from there.

Thanks,

Waldo
