New Design- What Do You Think?

Now, that's a nice knife. I really, really like that one; I like it a lot. Just as it is, with the micarta handles. Primo.

Thanks for all the replies! The handle material is canvas micarta that I made a little dirty. I think wood might look nicer but I don't have any on hand and I wanted to finish the knife.

I like the KepMuk idea! Maybe I'll name it that. I might change the handle just slightly to make it a tru Kephart/ Nessmuk mix.

I appreciate all the feedback guys... Thanks!

What's wrong with the handle just the way it is? I like that handle.

I like that especially the little belly where the fingers are and that you brought the blade edge back as far as possible to the guard.
Nice job!

Hey Ray, that looks fantastic! The question is , is it easier than a satin finish or harder :)! I would love to know

LOVE IT! I love how you can still see your mark through the finish. It's "shadowy". Awesome.

When I started making knives, everything was hand rubbed. It's the easiest way for me to finish a knife but it's way more work and very time consuming. Earlier this year, I learned how to do a Scotchbrite finish which saves time. It was a little hard for me at first to be happy with the finish but I've gotten better at it. The rustic finish seems to be the easiest. This one took a little more time because I'm experimenting with the process but when I get it down right, it should be easier and quicker. I also like it because you don't really have to worry about getting scratches, pitting and staining on your blade when you have a rough finish.

Thanks again to everyone for all the kind words. I wasn't really expecting such a response.:)

Sucks! Send it to me and I'll recycle it for ya.;)

If you don't mind me asking, what was your process on the finish?

WOW! That is toooooo nice! A great looking belt knife! Rustic or not, that design looks so damn useful!

awesome looking knife.
and looks "comfy", too.
