New Doug Ritter folder

For those that have received the knife...did you order one of the numbered versions last summer or did you order when they opened it up to everyone?

Did the shirogorov axis lock knives have similar issues with centering?

If multiple companies seem to struggle with it, then I almost wonder if it is inherently difficult to get right

Logically, it shouldn't be. Not centering.

You'd think, but I don't know of many instances of poor centering coming out of Hogue either. So we will see if this is a small issue with a couple of the models, or if it becomes pervasive throughout the whole release.

Benchmade is not centered on all models in my experience about 50% of the time. I have 3 axis locks that are perfect though.

Indeed. I sold Benchmade (and other brands) for 4 years so I got to handle quite a few. I think their centering issues get blown out of proportion by this forum sometimes but for the price point I do feel like they do have more issues with centering than they should.

Quite a few Benchmade folders that I bought second hand are not perfectly centered (although nothing close to rubbing the scale and all could be corrected by me). I don't think previous owners screws the centering (I mean for what?). It's more likely they came out of the factory that way as they were LNIB or very lightly used. The few I bought from dealers new were better centered but I did ask specifically to check the centering.

When I ordered mine I did not ask for a specific number, I did not want the hassle of someone else asking for the same number.
