New ESEE DPx H•E•S•T Folder

Oh, and I really dig the extra tool it comes with. I appreciate the fact that it comes with the tool needed to make adjustments, when some companies would have that as an additional item to buy. Very cool. A very ESEE thing to do.

And about Mr. DP, I for one think he rules! I will be proud to have him adorn my folder, just as he adorns my fixed blade.
 
Wow. Best looking folder i think I've ever seen. I hope the finished product looks exactly like that. If so I know I'll need one or five of them.

it looks nice. but i need to see some actual pics of it to be completely sold on the design.

edit: i kinda wish the pivot didnt need a special tool....

i have no clue... but it's not on the DPx website, or at least wasn't last time i looked.

i thought his personal logo or mark was the hand written looking RYP that's on the fixed HEST.

i just got a nice collection of "royalty free stock art" and was almost expecting to see it in there. (i'm a graphic artist by trade, just between jobs at the moment, or i'd have a better budget fir goodies)

the last time someone mentioned the laughing skull, it seemed as if there was some inside joke involved. perhaps in some remote corner of the world there's an actual skull wearing a pair of shades and a cap.
 
What people have mentioned so far:

1. Get rid of that skull. It's to gimicky.
2. That Bottle opener is worthless. If you play with knives, you can open bottles without a opener!
3. why the big hex hole in the handle? No mutitool please. That's what Leathermans are for.
4. Date and Serialize every piece, it will make each piece much more desirable Take a lesson from the Emerson book.

ok i need one, i like the skull its fun, the bottle opener works good keep it, this looks like the knife i've been wanting and didnt even know it.

i look forward to it alot.

Wow. I need to pre-order asap. Will the picture of the prototype, if any changes are made, be posted in this thread or will we need to look to our dealers?
 
Oh yes. This will hands down beat my trusty Buck or my Swamp Rat folder as the new EDC. I might get 3, one for each of the men in my family. Christmas gifts!
 
That looks pretty sweet! I'm not the biggest D2 fan but It might be worth trying. I dont like the skull logo either but if it is Mr. Pelton's (which I think it is) then he should leave it there. It's his design after all. Its the same with the Randall's Adventure Training logo.

So I assume the Steel is German, but it is cut and assembled in Italy?

I'd hoped it'd be US made, but I've heard good things from knives made in Italy.
