New ESEE folder - the Zancudo

My replacement came today, this one is much better than the last, I'm actually pretty happy with it.

One thing I noticed and I'm wondering about- are all you guy's thumb studs different heights from one side to the other? My right stud is more than a mm shorter than the left, it makes sence why its like that (the left scale is thicker) I just didnt notice it on my last one.

C_k,

Yes, that's how they are (regarding the diff extension of the thumb stud and the scale thickness diff).
I got mine a week ago and it is same, but also saw these details mentioned on a youtube review.

It's no ESEE, but I like it, and not concerned about messing it up day-to-day use, so I'll use it... a lot... ;-)
Enjoy.

I just bought the Zancudo Black handle and black blade at a nice price on the 'bay ... I gonna give a short report, when I recieve the knife.

My Zancudo arrived today. My initial impressions are mostly favorable. Lockup is solid with no blade play at all. Fit and finish is above the norm for a knife in this price range. Ergonomics are quite good. The shape of the handle makes it feel like a bigger knife. I love the stonewash. Blade is nice and sharp from the factory. It carries in the pocket quite well. My only initial complaints are that in the closed position you can see that they could have fit more blade in there, easily another 1/4" and there is too much writing on the blade. BRK and the esee logo are fine, but the addition of the mosquito is a little much. The Zancudo will have a place in my edge rotation. I do not have a Rat model 2, but I do have a Rat model 1 and I can't imagine the Rat 2 being any better than this

I just got done drilling & tapping my red 'cudo for the stripped Benchmade deep-carry clip I had, the strippe finish on the clip matches the stone washed frame perfectly. The only issue is you have is if you're trying to make it so you only need to drill/tap one new hole. Using the lower factory hole puts the clip a little below the end of the handle for my liking but using the upper hole (which would put it in the perfect location) and you can't drill anywhere since the lanyard hole is right there so I had to drill & tap both holes for the clip but I like the knife better already. I'll be carrying it today to see how much better it makes it.

It's been almost 3 weeks since I got mine and unfortunately the sticky lock hasn't gone away. I gave it to my daughter, she doesn't mind. She usually uses both hands to close her knives anyways. It doesn't seem everyone had this issue, or if they did it didn't last this long. Oh well.

I just gave mine away to a forum member who's buying a Benchmade from me. He'll be surprised. The Zancudo is a great little knife. I only gave it away because I found out that a 4" version will be available this year. Gotta have that one!

I think I am going to stick with my spydi milli until the Rat Izula folder comes out. Although I may change my mind when it comes out since it so "Wanted" they may be a tad bit on the high side.
