New for 2019

Looks like some fixed blade like the warcraft and srk got the stonewash treatment, im guessing they gonna announce stonewashed version of their other folders i.e. recon 1 and lawman as well
I wonder if the trend towards stone wash finish means the demise of DLC blades?

That sounds like wishful thinking to me! But if they offer more stonewashed folders I'd say that's proof they listen to their customers.

The new Drop Forged models have a "Grey Teflon" coating which I sure hope is an improvement over the previous crap .

DLC is neutral for me , especially over stainless . Might help protect 3V and other non-stainless ?

I have no beef with DLC finished blades. If anything I wish it was used instead of the various other coatings Cold Steel has and continues to use. Satin is my favorite finish, then matte like that used on the Mini Tac series. What, if any benefit is there to a stone wash finish?

I prefer satin finish. DLC and stonewashed are ok with me too.
I think some prefer stonewash because it doesn’t show wear/scratches/fingerprints.

Many believe the stonewash on the old AUS8 models contributed to the spotty rust problems . I think it does help with hiding scratches etc .

What is the deal with the G10 Ti-lites? They are always so ungodly expensive. CS knives are almost always a bargain for what you get, but those are priced very extravagantly whenever they do them.

I think it was the beadblast they used before stonewash that contributed to corrosion.

Is bead blast and stone wash the same thing? The reason I ask is because I had a Rajah III that had light orange spots on the blade after I forgot to remove it from my pocket when visiting the gym. I was only there for about an hour and the side of the blade against my leg was covered in light orange spots when I got home and changed my clothes. The blade finish was a matte or light grey. I wiped it down with an oiled cloth and the orange spots cleared up.

Quite different. They're achieved using different methods and media and have some different strengths and weaknesses. Neither is as corrosion resistant as satin or mirror polished, but bead blasting definitely makes it a little easier for corrosion to start than stone washing.

Ok, changed my mind, I'm more interested in the AD-15 now. Have to try the Scorpion Lock. On AD-10 and AD-15, I wish they would angle the plunge or pull it back so that there's a sharpening choil rather than a small space that doesn't seem large enough for a finger.
Looking at Demko's customs, I see that he sometimes angles the plunge or pulls it back and other times he doesn't and it looks the same as the CS production models.

Thanks ! I'm pretty sure the rust problems I mentioned were on bead blasted rather than stone washed . Yet another "senior moment " !

The ones I have seen are like a special edition with the G-10, CTS XHP and blackened blades, I don't think I have seen any G-10 with regular steel/finish. Could have missed them though, I prefer the titanium and aluminum versions.

Not sure it's worth the big price jump, but the G-10 Ti-Lites are a nice upgrade and my favorite of the series. They are the lightest of the series. They switched them over to s35vn and are regular production as far as I know.

Yes, they have been out as special editions and now apparently as regular model, but the price never seems to fall in line with the rest of the line up. Just wondering if there is something I’m missing that makes them harder to produce or something.

I don't think you're missing anything. They seem overpriced relative to other CS folders.

To get an AD10 without shelling out a grand+ is an absolute steal in my opinion, much more carry friendly than the 4max; the second that comes out im getting it that's for sure !Ill get the ad15 next since I already have the mg version anyway...

Already have both an AD10 custom and AD15, but will definitely be grabbing one of each production Cold Steel versions so I can enjoy the same kind of knife and not worry about beating it up a bit. I'm hoping to see them add a few more folders to the 2019 lineup, the Recon 1 clip point is still my most carried folder of all time, would love to see some similar types.

Wow! I just saw the new lineup. I've had both custom AD10s and AD15's, but I could never get myself to use them due to how expensive they were. I am in for both the CS AD10 and AD15. Great job Cold Steel!
