New for 2019

They just added more to the 2019 page. Looks like a bunch of fixed blades including Trail Master, Laredo and Natchez are switching from O-1 to A-2 steel.

The Drop Forged Survivalist now has scales on the handle in addition to the darker finish!

I saw that too. I wonder if it'll have the same indentations under the scales or if it's now slab sided, but drilled for the fasteners. I'll probably buy one either way. I'd almost pulled the trigger on the original model several times.

Since the abscence of handle scales has been the only reason I haven't bought a Drop Forged Survivalist yet I'll buy the new one for sure now. Plus I like the dark coating better.
A2 on Trailmaster and Recon Scout is a good choice too.

Excited for the ad-15. I’ve been on the fence over pulling the trigger on the scorpion lock for a long time, despite purchasing way too many knives in the past 2 months this will be an instabuy for me

I already have everyone of the 5 XL folders that CS is releasing as "new" for 2019. They seem to be visually identical to the ones I have but they're in a new ,more expensive , steel... ooh! be still my foolish heart! Have Cold Steel designers run out of ideas or is CS no longer interested in the XL folder department? I like and own a wide variety of CS products but it's their XL folders that really sets the company apart from their competitors. I'm enough of a CS XL folder fan that I might have been tempted to buy one of the "new" offerings if they had least come with new handle colors. Come on CS throw me a bone!

Checking the specs shows that the weight on the new 2019 version is the same as the original, 18.3 ounces. The scales look to be some sort of plastic with a textured surface, maybe Griv-Ex. Those handle scales would sure look nice on the silver coated version. Hopefully they will be available separately.

Seems like CS is really listening to their customers this year!

Yeah, just imagine a Vaquero Voyager in blaze orange or red!

Voyager BD1 to AUS10A - no price change
Espada XHP to AUS10A - big price drop

I cannot recommend the drop forged survivalist enough. ive used it in the woods maintaining an atv trail for a year or more and its great ; the added scales on the new one should be even better. And ive seen it on sale in the special projects section for 45.00 not sure if that's shipping included, but for a 52100 knife,8" blade forged from 1 piece of steel for that price is beyond insane.

After the Ultimate Hunter nothing really caught my eye since then until I saw the AD10 and AD15. Sure purchases for me.

I also like the looks of the AD10 and AD15. Then I look at my Ultimate Hunter, with a somewhat similar blade shape, large comfortable handle, tremedous build strength, and xhp steel, and I think I might prefer the lighter knife. The new models might be somewhat stronger, but the UH appears to be more than strong enough for anything I ll ever use a folder for. I edc my UH and I think 7 oz is a bit heavy for an edc for me unless I see a particular benefit from the added weight.
I felt the same way when considering the 4 Max. Just me.

Good points on weight that I have not considered.

For me it is not about stronger or such, just plainly want. The AD15 for the mechanism is what I want.

A change to 3V might tempt me to upgrade , but A2 I don't think will be a dramatic improvement . O1 has worked fine so far for me .
