New for sale forum rules.

Don't forget a price change can also mean a price INCREASE!!!!!
Hahahaha! :D

I didn't even think about THAT!!!! Mon, Wed, & Fri... 217, Tue, Thurs, & Sat, 218...Sun, 217.50 ...Just raise or lower, depending on your 'schedule', LOL ;) :D

Would the seller asking the question "is anyone out there" count as a free non 72 hr bump?? :D

Or perhaps the seller could respond to pretend PM or ems and say - "all inquiries have been responded to !" -- BUMP!!!

Ahh such fun! :D :D :D

Lawyers please help...

"Bumps are only allowed once every 72 hours. If you bump your thread more than that, it will be locked. Bumped threads must contain any of the following: price changes, new photographs or information, or additional items for sale."

... Am I to understand that I may only bump my sale thread every 72hrs. but ONLY if I have an info change???

That's the way it read to me. I added a link to my sale thread in my sig line. If folks want to se what I have, please use that link. I think a bump every 72 hours without new info is not unreasonable, but who am I? If we got our own Busse sub forum, who would moderate it? One of us or Glockman? Might make for a good selling point if this is the way he wants it.

I posted before that, if we have to do a Busse For Sale forum, I would volunteer if necessary. I would definitely want it to be one of us.

The last twenty-four hours have me really reevaluating my stance on whether I would like a separate Busse Sale forum.

FYI - Let's look at some numbers and see what the Bussites add to BFC in terms of paid memberships.

17:30 CST 2/10/07

A quick poll:

HI Forum: 24 Members viewing /\ 7 Gold, 1 Platinum (Annual: $385)
Buck Forum: 11 Members viewing /\ 3 Gold, 0 Platinum (Annual: $155)
Spyderco Forum: 12 Members viewing /\ 3 Gold, 0 Platinum (Annual: $165)

Busse Forum:
60 Members Viewing /\ 24 Gold, 5 Platinum (Annual: $1,160)

For Sale Production Blades: 39 Members Viewing /\ 14 Gold, 3 Platinum.
Of those viewing the For Sale, only two of the gold members were non-Bussites.

Incidentals:

P.C. 1 Member viewing. Platinum (Annual: $50)
Political: 6 Members viewing /\ 1 Gold. (Annual: $75)

(These numbers are only annual membership income of those viewing... I realize that is far from the true total but I think it does give a nice reference point.)

I haven't sold anything yet but normally the for sale forum is the first place I hit when I come on (as some one else said). It only takes a minute or two to go through the list. I don't open the threads I'm not interested in, and after two or more times I recognize the postings I've already viewed. Why are others causing such a big stink? 72 hrs? TOO LONG!!! A person selling should have a right to make sure their product is being viewed by those who would/could be his customer! The 24 hour rule should be just fine. Keep the chatter to a minimum and we'll keep the drippy nosed whiners happy too! Just my 2 cents!!!!!!!!

I still think all we need to do is go around an give each other free bumps, as needed

- in the form of a question of course Alex!! :D

But actually I too have come around on this as well. Lets create our own party and run our own rules. Not that we would not have rules but it would me more of our game and ALL Busse/Swamp/Dog!!

However - I think they should help finance this as it is they that currently have the problem.

PG that is a confusing reply. Jaxx asked if he can only bump with a change after 72 hours and your reply is “ That is the way I read it…” and “…72 hours without a change is reasonable.”

So PG as a Mod and a guy that I respect and look to for reasonable insight as to what goes on here which way is it?

a) bump after 72 without a change is OK
b) bump only after 72 hours have passed and only if there is a change.

The way it is written in my opinion the answer is (b) and I think that is a bad result. But even Congress has to write technical corrections acts after every tax law they pass because somewhere in the law after the review of about 200 lawyers, something is written in a way that says something that they did not mean.

So I have asked G-Man to tell me if it is (a) or (b) and if it is (b) does he mean that to be the result.

And by the way you are driving Jaxx’s legal bill right through his new lead ceiling. Cha ching$$$$ :D

That's it, you're OFF the CLOCK!!! Have a drink on me, I think that I paid for the bottle!! LOL :D ...And the REST of y'all... Pay your OWN legal INFI's!!! LOL

Like Paddling_man, I too would volunteer to be a mod if we had our own FS sub-forum. One or two more and it would be easily doable IMO.

Guys, no offense, but stop looking for reasons to bust my balls here. The intent is not to piss you all off. The intent is not to drive away paying members.

The intent is to keep people from clogging up the forums and fucking over other sellers by bumping their own threads every 15 minutes, or having needless discussions in the interests of having their thread be at the top (at the expense of everyone else who paid for a membership).

The For Sale area is for SELLING, not DISCUSSION. If you have a technical question about an item for sale, you are certainly entitled to ask it, and the buyer can respond.

Looking for a way to get around the rules is not going to engender any points with me because I'm going to see you as someone looking to screw over your fellow paying members.

In the future, if you have issues with the rules, bring them up in the SERVICE & SUPPORT FORUM so that EVERYONE can see what's going on, and so I can answer it in a TIMELY manner instead of finding this thread on page 3.

I have no problem with feedback or constructive criticism. NONE. Please do me the courtesy of making it constructive, and giving me a chance to respond.

All "sub outs" have to be done by certified letter.

You ain't getting this blood sucker off of you that easy:grumpy:

:D :D

I am a little curious as to how we jumped from 24 hours to 72 hours. That's a two day difference. Might we have tried out 48 hours for a while to see how it goes? In 72 hours, a sale post would likely be on page 3 or 4.

I get the point about discussion, and I have been guilty of it on several occasions in the past, though I have consciously refrained on more than a few occasions lately after Dann started posting in threads to limit discussion. The Silent Knight is an exception. I made a comment. Guilty as charged. But we are talking about a knife seldom seen that listed for $6500.

I just posted a request about that... answer pending

Is this thread closed down.

Oh, I see it's not now.

I'm for our own Busse sales forum. We are most of it anyway and won't clog it up for others.

It probably should be out of respect.

The rules have been edited to say that after 72 hours you can make any bump.
