New for sale forum rules.

I think there may have been some additional changes/clarification. I think this now makes sense and should be something we can live with (I know that I can):

"Bumps or BTT style posts are only allowed once every 72 hours, per thread.
If you bump your thread more than that, it will be locked. New posts listing price changes, new photographs or information, or additional items for sale, answering buyer questions, or listing the item as sold are allowed and do not apply to the "1 Bump every 72 hours" rule. "

This now says that you can only bump (for bumps sake) every 72 hours. That would be the standard BTTT every 72 hours. If you add info, pics, change prices, etc., then you can do that without regard to the 72 hour rule.

This is different than what was posted in this thread initially, and seems to be a much better rule.

What do you think?

I think I'm glad Spark went to the trouble of reviewing what he wrote...and improving it.

I just looked at the latest version. I think it's quite clear.

I can follow the rules. Maybe they aren't the rules I would have written --- but, then, I didn't break my back creating the best set of Forums on the web, either. I also haven't kept them going for years with far too little support.

I'll cut Spark a whole lotta slack before I complain. He's earned my respect.

Here is my Two cents. Just as Busse philes are many in paying members, they also tend to dominate the sale board. If anyone else is trying to sell it gets overshadowed by the 20 daily threads on Busse sales. I think the mods are just trying to even things up a little for other sellers.

Now if Spark would add a Busse Sale forum for all three Busse companies and it would be titled: Busse and SwampRat sale forum Hard Use Knife sales...
then it would be self explanatory. Makes sense?

I agree; seems to be a much better rule. (Maybe it's the same rule, phrased differently for greater clarity.)

Ok - I too will give it a little time - as I am usually easy going. I do not mess with others as long as they are not messing with me......

But I have been feeling a little messed with lately...............

OK, I was against a Busse only forum, but if it's going to change the rules in the general forum then let's have it.
 
A Busse forum is probably going to happen in the near future. I have other things on my plate right now, but but but I do see it happening.

At first I was opposed to having out own for sale forum, but now it is making much more sense to me. When I'm looking to purchase something on BF, it's usually for one of the three Busse Company's. If it is such a big deal to those who aren't into Busse knives, let them have the general for sale forum. I say we put up a poll here in the Busse forum as to whether we get our own for sale section. If a majority of us are for it, then lets take it to Spark.

Now that is a lot better than the first. Good of him to listen and work with us, that is what you want in a good Mod.
He also said we will prob be getting own forum in near future.
It would attract more people to Busse when they see how many people are in the forum compared to all other forums combined. It would not hurt Busse sales. Only help, IMHO
 
Well, I recognize that there are Gold and Platinum members voicing their opinions but what the hey. I see this thread winding its way back to the separate exchange topic. I would much prefer to see Busse, Swamp Rat, and Scrap Yard knives in their own exchange. I bypass the rest of the stuff for the most part in the exchange anyway to get to these listed. It would make it simpler for me personally to find what I am interested in. Just like I go directly to the Busse Combat Knives forum when I log in. I occasionally go to other forums and I see familiar names posting there so I know others do also but I am really glad that I don't have to wade thru the other forums topics to pic out the Busse stuff. Many others may have a much more diverse interest in the knife culture and I understand not wanting to be pushed out but for me, it would be a great enhancement for my viewing and purchasing pleasure by letting me focus on the product of my main interest. If you merely look at the number of people viewing the forums at any given time, you see that the Busse forum is the most heavily viewed from what I have seen. That alone tells me there is a large group of INFI groupies and that it might be a service to them to have an exclusive exchange. If I want to look at something else, I can easily seek it out as well. Just my opinion. Aint it great to be able to express it freely....

That makes much more sense. I am still pretty much against a seperate for sale forum basically because I feel it is being forced on us, but it is Spark's playground and he makes the rules. I do my best to live by them while I am here.
 
Great idea on a separate Busse FS Forum (when Spark gets a chance)! And I'm in for pitching in $$$ to help out if needed. ;)
 
I just went to the main page and checked out the number of folks viewing each forum. Busse is the dominant force on this site "by far" and has been every time I looked at it. 41 viewing now. The closest other was 15. There is a huge force at work here. Rock on!
 
well, if they make a separate forum for Busse family knives, that will leave mine on the first page of the production forum longer, assuming you guys post yours over in the ghetto. I will not be using any new forum.

seems many here do not want it, im undecided as yet.
