With basically the whole thing in question now you really do need to account for it here.....

That is if you really care about saving your reputation...... That is going down the drain fast.......

I agree. Take some time to answer the questions asked. I'd hate to see your rep here go bye-bye due to the lack of communication. Your business seems legit but you need to give some more detail regarding the problems at hand.

Yes....

The glory of Bladeforums.com is its premier status. It is highly moderated and runs so well. Knives and materials are HIGHLY reviewed and scrutinized and the information is stored in a database. The same is true for Makers and Dealers, their work/services and general attitude/work ethics are held to really high standards again leading to the awesomeness of BFC. Its sort of like angieslist if you are familiar with that websit. A community where handymen/yard workers/maids and the like are highly scrutinized and recommended to other users. Its all cream of the crop, just like Bladeforums.

That is why if this giveaway is truly not what it has been claimed to be, in all aspects, then it should be known and the information should be passed around.

And its also not like if my suspicions are correct then Knives Emporium is complete crap... It just means they're not the Messiah. There is a ton of hype going around for KE, and like I have suggested I'm sure KE has been seeing that in the amount of orders they are getting.

George, dude after I saw your giveaways and this recent one I was raving to my girlfriend about how cool it was that y'all were targeting BFC specifically for a CRAZY giveaway (XM-24) and in my eyes you were the most "devoted contributor" on BFC. Just with new evidence that opinion changes and I'm sure it would for others too.

Ankerson, with what we have done for the community my reputation is in very good shape, I don’t need to bash people to get attention.

I wish you best.
George

I don't either, I have been around for a VERY long time....

But in light of current events things could change very fast on your part.....

Not saying you haven't, but what is it that you have done for the community specifically? And could you answer some of those questions please? The Facebook posting, the past winners within driving distance...etc. This would go a long way in clearing things up for our community. And please don't ask everyone here to run searches. You have the info, just post it.

I am done with this, will wait and see what the Mods and or Spark come up with. :)

Hopefully for all that would be concerned there will be a new drawing that is more above board than what has happened here.

Ok, I did a search.

Wobly won the 0200
MQQN won the 0560
Jaifospam won the Tuff
Mortimer (not a BF member not sure how to get any info on him) Won the XM-18
(Knifemachine) Cheater Won the XM-24.

As popular as the first three giveaways were, I am absolutely POSITIVE that they didn't generate anywhere near the same amount of revenue for Knives Emporium in the form of BF members joining and buying knives from their site. So yes, the first three giveaways seem legit, The XM-18, who know if that was legit and the XM-24 was not legit. (Not necessarily the fault of KE however)

This is from FaceBook another winner.
"Congrats to Stephen Slampa for winning the Spyderco Southard!" April 6th 2013. Lives near KE as does this last winner.

To all that are not pleased with what we do,

It sounds like some are not happy that someone with 2 posts is the winner, look at this thread how many signed-up and responded to this thread, specifically for this giveaway with very few post plus a lot of members with few posts do not even reply to the thread, they just sign-up for the giveaway that’s all.

George,

I wouldn't be too concerned with the negative reactions of some.
You did a very straight forward simple giveaway, like dozens of others on here. No one invested or lost anything for a chance to win. The the luck of the draw is just that.

IMHO, the amount of negative reaction is largely because you generously put up a VERY desirable knife that almost everyone on BF wanted to win badly (including me ;) ), so many felt more than the normal amount of desire to be the winner.
To me,that just reaffirms how generous your choice for the GAW was.

Basically on BF the norm is that it's your giveaway and you can run it any darn way you choose.

My reaction? Disappointment I didn't win, and congrats to the lucky person who did and a definite  to you and Knives Emporium for giving me the chance.

While I agree with you on he can run it anyway he chooses, it's understood that if it isn't fair; many people will find it dishonest and it will reflect very poorly on the reputation of the company. There are just many things that aren't adding up and some people want a few questions answered. The responses i've seen so far aren't doing it for me. It sounds like some of the responses i've gotten from either a person who isn't very good with computers, or someone that is emailing tons and tons of people and doesn't really care, so they cherry pic a few questions to answer in a rushed manner without providing any real information and/or give canned responses. (scammers, spammers, etc).

I also think you missed a couple of things. The person who won had multiple accounts which is strictly forbidden under BF rules. That means they could have entered the contest multiple times. In fact the account that won got deleted, but the original one was kept intact.

Your opinion is welcome, but about as 180 as you can get from what this community actually stands for. The people here are much less about winning a knife than keeping high community standards and not having people/companies abuse give aways to gain free advertising and publicity. We have many yet unanswered questions, winners within driving distance, fraudulent entries, copying Fort Henry's website, putting the BF Only entry link onto FaceBook, registered users included in the drawing who were not Members... Upstanding group here at BladeForums and you seem not to know them at all.

Whew, lots of drama on the Bladeforums today! 'Tis a shame everything turned out so unpleasantly, fraudulent accounts and all that.

Yep. I despise dishonesty and hate seeing a great knife go to a bad person. That is <cue conspiracy theories> if there ever was a knife given away. </cue>

Well... since the "winner" was proven to be dishonest, if I was KE, I would draw another name and show that I was up and up.
