You are absolutely correct I did miss at least one important thing. That being the winner account is banned. Which means it isnt a valid BF member or user.

I assumed when I saw Karda's post that had been checked out.

I guess the only "loophole" was WHEN the name was banned. Even if it wasn't banned at the drawing date, its not a very good loophole, since whether caught or not caught yet, the winner was in violation of BF policy and not a valid user of any sort.

Thank you for saying that so politely. As you can see above, I made an assumption without checking all the details fully myself...never a good idea :o.

Even overlooking the other places the contest was marketed, which could be valid but are still troubling, the main and most important one would seem to be was the winner a valid BF member/user at the time of the "drawing".

Please be assured I am 100% behind the standards this community tries so hard to maintain.

And at this point it should almost be required for the winner to post pics on receipt of the blade, and let's hope it's a longtime BF user who lives far far away (like in Canada!), that would restore our faith in KE.
 
the lack of legitimate response is frustrating to say the least on KE's behalf.

I don't really care about the knife at this point, its more of how KE handles this that tells me whether Ill ever buy from them. As of now its a definite no, which is a shame because there website was looking good, and I planned to shop with them. They said they would do another giveaway, but honestly I wont be entering and if I could take my email off the (mailing list/ user list) on the website I would.

pretty crappy regardless that it has to come down to this :thumbdn:

Right, the user only got banned after the drawing and announcements were done. Doesn't make it right. KE may not have done anything wrong in that respect. What I would have done on learning this fact though is communicate properly to the community and try and respect the fairness and good faith most people seem to share here.

I don't think that was done properly. It wasn't long between the announcement of the winner and finding out he was not a member in good standing with BF. While there's a potential the knife may have been sent out -- I doubt it.

KE has not communicated one way or the other if it has. One could expect that the plan is to proceed as normal, since nothing substantial has been communicated.

I just want to know. Then I can begin to form an opinion on KE's ethics and fairness and sense of community which I so thoroughly enjoy here at BF.

I don't even care about a second chance at the knife. Count me out if it'll make my point stronger.

Remember people, when you try and get business via social media like this, you need to be accountable and COMMUNICATE! If you don't, you're gonna have a bad time.
 
Congrats to the winner. Hope they enjoy their knife.

Now that the contest is over, how's about the OP or a Mod shut this thread down? I don't see it serving any useful purpose anymore.

Really? Have you been following this thread? Are you seriously congratulating a fraudulent user? This totally disheartens me.
 
Thanks to all the members that have spent the time to bring this before everyone. I know where I won't be spending my money, unless this is handled better.
 
So the winner was a cheat that had multiple accounts and is now banned. Surly he doesn't deserve the knife!

Your still giving the folder away are you not? If so when will the re draw be held?

Last 2 winners lived within driving distance of the company? I"d like to see the probability of that.
