New GEC #14 Boys Knife

Cannonball970,
Have you checked your visitor messages? I sent you one a few days ago.

Thanks for getting that answered for me.

We are excited to have the blue but it is only in the 2 blade configuration.

Your blue talon turned out nice. I'm guessing this blue #14 is going to look good too. Can you tell us a little more about the "stonewash"? What does that mean... is it just a reference to the shade of blue or is stone-washing actually going to be done?

Thank you!

Sorry to repeat this but has anyone heard anything about the oily creek bone versions?

I checked with the dealer yesterday, I was told they're still waiting on some of the single and double blades to arrive. Strange since they seemed (the singles) to be among the first done

Thank you! Maybe they want to send all of them out at once?

Anyone know what the overall thickness of the 2 blade #14 will be?

Also, DLT has the autumn gold jigged bone single blade up now.

Camel bone arrived today. In love with it! Grind on the swedge is tiny bit off ... but can certainly live with that! Pull is a little stiffer than my antique yellow (on the high 5 side).

And, both together:

How do they feel in the hand compared to the #15?

I was surprised by how much smaller it was. Still feels good in hand, but wouldn't want anything smaller.

Makes it very pocketable.

Is the blade still long enough for general use?

My TC 14 Barlow is 7/16" on the bolster end, and just under 1/2" on the butt end. Two blade feels good in the hand with the extra width.

If you ever used a Case Peanut, GEC Coyote/Beagle, or small Serious Army Knife than the 14 will be much larger than all of these. I find mine very usable (about the same as a 15) but much more pocketable than my 15's.

I think it fits more into the large user knife category than the tiny pocket gem category.

That has to do with the color, not of the finish on the blade. GEC has done some #79s in that color not to long ago.
