new GEC Templar

It's beginning to sound like a Chastity Belt......:D

Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing some real pix of it when the owners' land one

60s & 70s mixed with the ol' west?...hmmm.. it must be the "Every Which Way But Loose " of knives then.

I can see how they wouldn't be for everyone but I think they look alright. I have a Black Micarta and Stained Glass on order. If nothing else, they should be great users. Relatively inexpensive for a GEC and very thin in the pocket.

In keeping with the western and templar theme...

Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam?

(That should be recognizable to many of us older geezers...)

I like it, but not sure if I would ever buy one, but it's great that GEC keeps trying to think outside the box. I hope it does well so it doesn't dissuade GEC from future efforts.

I really like the pattern. But the scale options are not really that exciting. I geuss this echos what many in this thread have said. Hopefully they will come out wIth different scale choices.

I just got mine in the mail about fifteen minutes ago. I got the red and black striped scales.
This is a great knife. Thin and very classy looking. I really like it.

Mine came in today too. I think they're nice. Lighter than I thought they would be. The scales are full length with the bolsters overlaid on both sides but not on the back or front of the knife. Also, they haven't been rounded off like the other GEC single blade #48s.

Thanks guys. Here's some closer pics of the stained glass. Not pictured here but like real stained glass, you can see the outlines of the different pieces when you hold them flat.

2DEAD,
could you per chance put up a pix of the end of this knife was trying to get a mental pix. is it kind of like a shadow bolstered knife with metal plates of top of scales?

The Templar is a bit of a miss for me, but there's always something to like in the ranges.

Rather wishing that GEC would do a few less short innovative runs and do a little more to keep the classics on the books.

They are always going to be able to sell a stag Moose, #73, #48 etc., but some of these are getting proper thin on the ground now.

Reckon there'll be a rerun?

The Templar is a miss for me as well. I would love to see GEC do another run of the #48's. Maybe a Wharnie 48? That would be a sweet knife. Anyone listening out there?

Will do in a bit but basically you're right. Shadow with the barn door hinges on top of the scales. I think they reached a little too far with this and should have rounded off the scales and made shadow #48s.
