New Grails - Pics As Promised

My oh man I couldn't think of a guy who deserves it more! Congrats my man...one of the more aw inspiring "check out my new CRK" threads I have seen in awhile! Impressive indeed!!!!

Do you know if the gold coin is solid gold?

The coin reads 1/10th oz AU.999
So I am thinking it is, knowing CRK and the price these were selling for back in 2000, I am sure they are. I emailed Anne and asked if she had any info she could share with me.

What's cool is the recess for the coin is so large, that when taken apart, you can see the other side of the coin. So, later on this week, I will break it down and take some pics of that. Hoping to get my digital camera setting right so I can take some much better pics. Out of all of them, I have gotten the biggest response from the Gold Coin Sebenza, though the Gary House Damascus Sebenza is pretty special as well. I also love the 3-Mother of Pearl small regular too, its just SOOOO different and never knew CRK made such a UG. Really Cool.

I know there are only a 12 of these made, Gary House Mosaic Damascus Large Regular Sebenza with MOP Stone.

Last but not least and probably one of the rarest and most sought after......A Gold Coin Large Regular Sebenza. This one has the China Panda Bear Coin. It also has HC raindrop damascus blade.

Here is some updated info I received from the great Anne Reeve on my Large Regular Gary House Mosaic Damascus Sebenza & my Large Regular 2001 Gold Panda Coin Sebenza...!

Thanks Anne, Your The Best...!!!

"The one with the Gary House blade just started with talking to Gary and
having him make some interesting mosaic damascus for us. The edition was
only 12 pieces, made in early 2001. The graphic is essentially computer
generated and was a collaboration of Chris with several folks on the staff,
intentionally echoing the twirls in the damascus on the handle. I have a
note that the original sales price was $1,050.

The China Gold coin is one of the series we did 1997 and 2003. Yes, it does
say 2001, and the graphic, like the Gary House one is essentially a CGG.
The damascus is Devin Thomas High Contrast Raindrop. As best I recall, they
sold for somewhere in the $775 region. Just since I know you are a details
kind of guy, this is the breakdown of year, coin (always a 1/0th ounce coin)
and how many:
1997 - United States (12)
1998 - Australia (12)
1999 - Canada (12)
2000 - South Africa (20)
2001 - China (20)
2002 - Austria (20)
2003 - Isle of Man (20)"

What beautiful knives, I'm relatively new to CR knives so I had no idea that models like these were even produced. Thanks for passing on the information that Anne shared with you, it's much easier to live vicariously through other forums members when we get ALL of the details as well.

Thank You for bumpin' this thread nyefmaker; sooo glad i could learn of these CRKs. Just Wow!

A new first for me! Up until these pics I have totally disparaged the idea of patterned damascus as needless decoration and preferred my Sebenzas "plain jane". That Gary House Mosaic is gorgeous!

Thomas, it's finally good to know the story behind these 4 very rare gems you have. You my friend are a very lucky guy to have found all 4 and got them in one go...

This thread makes me want to cry. I hope I can find even just one pretty rare piece of CRK history in my lifetime...
