New Greatness has arrived today!

I haven't heard of any other problems with BRKT either. I have owned a few and except for my opinion that almost all of them have handles that are too small, atleast for me, I don't know of any problems. Everyone I had was nice, F & F included . But.. in the same breath , this is a sweet knife and would be atleast equal to the Barkies. IMHO

UDTJim, hope that shoulder gets fixed. I messed up one a few years ago, not that bad, but pulled it out of socket and tore some stuff. Wow, that was real pain! Hope ya get some results.

Well, I wont derail this thread, but check out GB&U for more on the BRKT thing.

Sweet, I have been eyeing those..I am missing my H-1 lately..I think one with a micarta handle would be cool. Gene

Had my gallbladder taken out a few years ago. The surgery and recuperation were much less painful than the symptoms. I've never known that much pain. I was back to work lifting and loading railroad batteries 4 days after surgery.
Hope your surgery goes well. Prayers out for a speedy, painless recovery.

Oh dang BTW NICE KNIFE!

Or the thread titled "BRKT Fit & Finish" right here in the W&SS forum for that matter.
I do not appreciate your ongoing efforts to pollute every thread you can with a topic that's already overflowing with vitriol in it's own thread.

Bladefrienzy, get well soon and go try out that ugly, clumsy new knife of yours! :D

I've got an H-1 myself and I think you should see about getting another one with Micarta for yourself. You definitely deserve it after going through surgery.

Best of luck with that surgery.

Hey, ask the surgeon if he'll do it with the new knife, ultimate test for the edge.

And ask the nurse to take some pics. :D Gorgeous knife. Wish you luck with the surgery. You'll be back in the woods soon with a new blade.

Well I survuved the surgery. Wow, four new holes in my gut. A decent amount of pain, but I haven't had to take the meds yet. Can't wait to go out in the woods. I'll have to keep looking at all these great pics til then. Later, and thanks for thinking of me guys. Steve

Great steve! Get well soon brother, if you need anything, dont hesitate to ask.

Don't want to derail anything, but how do you guys like your H1's? How do they compare to other blades in non-hunting chores? I like the notion of a rough scandi/saber - convex grind. I've got an F1, but I think I'm gonna sell it to pay for part of a full tang model.

Glad to hear it! Get well soon, hope the healing is quick and restful.

I had an H1 for a while and sold it to get another F1. The edge on the H1 was just too thick for my tastes. The handle was great and the blade shape was great, I just liked the F1 better all around.

Now I have 2 regular F1s and a full tang FI from JRE in orange g-10 with black spacers. The F1 rocks.

I wouldn't sell the f-1. And MatthewDanger is right. The h-1 does have a thicker edge, But..it's convexed so if you keep it convexed you'll thin it a bit every time you sharpen. Or you could thing it on a belt grinder . I did that to mine , just a bit thinner than stock. I was very happy with it and used it a lot, just a great all around woods knife. But once I get to use the F-1 I may like it better.

Every thread? Try 1. Show me another thread where I brought this up?

Thanks for the heads-up on the edge, guys! Just the info I was looking for.

I think I'm gonna sell my F1, but only because I want one with thicker slabs, the standard is a little anemic for me.

As much money as WSS costs me, it still saves me more! Think of all the "would've" purchases...
