New grinder, build complete

thank you for posting follow up pictures. the machine looks to be very solid and well built. you nailed the clearance on the tool pockets, that alone is impressive without a mill.

I tack welded each slot individually using the aluminum tool arm and a few strips of paper on the top and one side for the desired clearance.

Agreed looks like a great looking grinder... Only advice I would add is get some metal flashing and line the wooden shelves . You probably only need to do the immediate areas that will be in contact with flying hot metal .. The steel embers when your hogging out. I have a complete metal table with a full sheet of galvanized metal to protect sparks from getting on my shelves . Great Job !

Yeah, I've been thinking I should do something like that. My fire prevention is pretty poor right now. I weld on my wooden workbench!!! 😱

Next up....welding table 😄

what do you think is causing the belt wobble Java? maybe one of the wheels is slightly out of alignment?

Very nice grinder!! Only thing I would prefer is speed control mounted closer

Yeah, it was one of those "I've got other things I need to work on first" type decisions. I'll probably build a bracket to get it closer eventually.

That is a very impressive build! My only question is why did you put four slots in for the tooling arm?
