New here. Lost my knife.

May I recommend an Ontario Rat1, Rat2, Zancudo, or a lower end Spyderco like a Tenacious, Persistence, or Resilience? I'd really like to make a Spyderco fan out of you, but I do love carrying my Rat1...it was a gift from some very kind members on this forum in the PIF thread though, so it is near and dear. I really like the Kershaw Zing as well.

I am ok with Speedsafe, however many folders like the ones Spyderco makes seem faster to me, and so much easier to close one handed. If you're ready to put down a little money, a ParaMilitary 2 makes just about the perfect EDC.

Oh I'm absolutely a Spyderco fan, I believe I have four or five models; they're all quality works. I've never owned a spring assisted Spyderco because I'm more fond of manual folders due to knife laws in my area, but I'm sure they're reputable as well.

Although someone has generously replaced your lost Chive, I think you would love the Leek. I have had mine 10-15 years and I still carry it the most. The original stainless model that I have is a frame lock, but many Leek models use a liner lock. And there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion, but for some it may be an issue.

I'm guessing the OD-1 has been discontinued as I never hear about them anymore, but it has been a great knife for me. Especially as I bought it new for $25.00. Incredible value and similar blade as the Leek.

Also, I have bought from Kershawguy and his excellent reputation is well deserved. And the Kershaw Blems that I have are great.

What is the difference between these two locks? Can you tell them apart by looking at them?

The liner lock is inside the handle. The frame lock is actually part of the handle or 'frame'. You can see most of the profile of the frame lock if the pocket clip isn't too bulky.
A Zero Tolerance 0300 is a a frame lock.
A Spyderco Paramilitary is a liner lock.

Thank you!
Judging from the pictures of both of these I think my chive was a frame lock.
