New High-Toughness Stainless Steel: Nitro-X7

I haven't (can't) read all this thread yet.

So the new steel is "tougher.". Where does it fal on the toughness/edge retention chart? How does it compare with the other wiz-bang magic steels in use today?

There are few powder stainless steels have carbide as fine as 13C26 12C27 and such, the low carbide composition naturally promotes smaller carbides, and Alleima makes sure they are small consistently.

Comparing 13C26. 12C27 or Nitro-X7 to PM steels does not make any kind of sense.
There is not enough carbon in any of them to form enough carbides to impact wear resistance.
PM steels have carbides which improve wear resistance. 13C26, 12C27, and Nitro-X7 do not.

Ztuff is a PM steel with 4 percent carbide volume and AEB-L has 6 percent carbide volume so not sure if your reasoning stands up.

This is simply not the case. The process that was used to produce a steel does not directly indicate how much carbide the steel has. Moreover 13C26, 12C27 and nitro-V or X7 all have carbides and enough carbon to create them.
