Guys, was thinking of 'V', flat grind, but will see what the maker reckons. I know its screaming convex, but I might leave that for the bushcraft style designs.
Micarta handle with a full overall beadblast finish.
If you are going to go full beadblast finish I would not go carbon steel blade. The blasting opens the "pores" of the steel up and make it even more prone to rust. Blasted O1 rusts...FAST!
For a good economical stainless 440C is the way to go. Properly heat treated it is fantastic. By all means you could go with some of the higher end stainless but 440C just works:thumbup:
Nice. I'd go with a higher flat grind. I'm thinking maybe 90-95% grind height. And I'd go with A2. I just ordered a custom similar to this in some ways, but decided to go with D2 for more weather resistance for use around water.
I have several in A2, and they are tough as nails, and not to hard to sharpen.
I think everyone here has made pretty much the same suggestions 7 I agree, get all the cutting edge you can. I also like the tip & the knife design in general  Can't wait to see the final product !
