New HK Axis Knife, but Not by Benchmade?!

I am picking up one of these. As far as Hogue's G10 looking like plastic, it definitely does not in person. The layers in Hogue's G10 stand out more than other companies G10; it has more of a wood look.
 
Thrilled to see the axis lock's patent expired. It will be exciting to see what other new designers do with it.
 
I actually kinda like the design of the exemplar despite what many people said here. Still looking forward to getting one
