So they are out at Knife Center and I just picked one up. This looks like it will be a great knife. Has anyone ordered one yet or plan to?

I saw this at SHOT show and it was great. Nice ergos, great flat ground blade with a nice "splinter picker" tip, and very nice g-10.

You mean this one? ;) :D

The design kinda reminds me of the AFCK, except with better ergos.

I just ordered one from Tom at Spydercovt.

I may have it as early as next Monday. Looking forward to getting it.

When some of you folks get your new J.D. Smith in please post some pics of it with an Endura or a Para/Military.. or both.. I need something for scale.

This may be the Spyderco I've been waiting on. I returned a Military and a Paramilitary. I really like the Stretch, but it's a little pricey at the moment. This may fit the bill.

It sure looks great in the above pics. Thanks for sharing Catamount123.

Thanks for the comparison pic.

I'll have to think this over. I keep waiting for a Stretch 2 to come across the for sale forum at a good price or should I say a great price.

Thanks again.

Anybody know how many of the J.D. Smith knives Spyderco is making for the sprint run?

I just received my J.D. Smith from Tom at www.spydercovt.com yesterday, the day he said it would be delivered. Fantastic service from Tom. The action is super smooth and the blade is dead center. No workmanship issues anywhere. great knife! Here are some pictures:

Would like to see the grind come back a bit farther. Hate wasted space on a blade.

So I got mine and a few things come to mind. First it was a bit stiff and gritty. Nothing that cleaning up won't handle. The blade to handle ratio really feels off. Heavy on the handle end compared to the blade. Also, the hole feels really small. All in all a great knife. Now and again I get a Spyderco that has to grow on me and I think this is one of those knives. Very well made.

I really like the type of finish ethey used on the pocket clip. Very nice.
