New KaBar Magnum Camp Pictures from Ethan Becker

Ok, I guess the burning questions are:
When will they be available?
How much?

Cheers

sheaths, availability, specs... nope, all that has to wait.

they've barely covered the prototype stage! nothing is final yet...

patience guys!

they'll be ready when they're ready, they'll cost what they cost, they'll slice and dice and be quite nice...

lust now. wait. patience. lust some more... on ship day, buy 9.

Full flat grind and what looks like a very fine edge. Put me down for two!

The tip area looks a little bit different from the Camillus model. It's not quite as pointy. Maybe that will be an improvement.

Pic #1 is now my desktop background.
To remind me to come here and bug ya'll everrrry day!
BUUWHAHAHA!!:)

William.M/ZombaiO,

The KA-BAR BK-5 protos were made from 3/16" (0.188") thick stock. Camillus production BK-5s were from 0.200" thick stock.
Hope this helps.

The becker knives I own are beloved tools that will never be traded or sold. I just got a new BK9 that I put a convex edge on, and that thing slices like a demon. i'll take some pics. You can read news print through any citris you want to cut. It looks like 5/32" stock to me. it's the same thickness as my cutlass machete. No issue. The thing is a tank, and with the blade height it has, the geometry is off the hook. I think it's about perfect for it's wieght and feel. My RD9 outweighs it by a good margin, and I think would be tougher, because of the additional steel and the fact that 5160 is much tougher than 1095. Both knives are way overbuilt IMO. The BK9 is nicer to carry and I prefer no choil. I hear some complaints about the Grivory scales, but I find them to be very comfortable. What I love about the Beckers is that Ka-bar is offering them at such an incredible price point that you can get two and mod one if you want. Ka-bar was on the ball when they brought your designs back. Your stuff Rocks Ethan!! Your knives beg for use like few others I run into or use. I'm a hobby maker with a little coke forge. I have many I have made myself, yet my beckers continue to get a lot of use. They just rock. :D

I've wanted one from the frist time I saw the pics of Bladites pile of them
. it seems soon I ought to own one or two.

I'm from Europe too and I ordered my knives at www.tomarskabars.com (there aren't a lot of shops that ship overseas actually). I was very satisfied with their service.

But you will have to wait a bit to be able to order a Magnum Camp, since it isn't even produced yet.
