Hello all. First post here! I love the prototype and can't wait until it comes out. I just picked up my first Becker, a Camillus BK-5 a couple of weeks ago for $35 out the door at a pawn shop in Knoxville. It has a broken sheath though. :( Maybe when these hit, I can get a backup Magnum Camp and a replacement sheath!

i think i've seen replacement sheaths for sale on ePray, as well, you could probably MAKE one :> or get someone to make you one in kydex or leather. sweet!

orrrrr, just wait a bit. Beef up the old one with some Gorilla tape and some paracord wrappings :)

I would definitely be down for at least one.

Convex the edge, maybe make some micarta scales........... :)
 
i'm likely to buy at LEAST one for the collection. i have a daily user already.

i might buy more as gifts. i have friends that would appreciate this model above all others.

i'd also consider buying a few sets of the new micarta, to throw on this model... MAYBE try them on the EDC Machax, though i'm typically quite happy with the original grips. if they came in safety orange or something, i'd ponder that more.

actually, if KaBar were to do different color coatings, i'd be very ... interested. then again, it's a simple matter to take the handles off, hang a blade up, and paint it the color you want.

Good lookin scales! I'd love to see some hunter greens or any kind of darker green. But I gotta say the UT orange looks pretty good! That's U of Tennessee for me. Although our UT was NOT in the national championship, or close to it! Haha.

More options for us guys to trick out our older BK-5s too! That of course means more demand for backups. And backups to the backups. And...well you get the idea.
 
You guys are going to like the slight changes in the BK5. Each little change is for a good reason and the end result is a better tool. I have used my proto well and am really tickled with it.

Any estimate on when this Magnum Camp could hit the streets? Weeks or months?

Actually I think its VT orange for Virginia Tech. Go Hokies! ;)
